PERSONAL NOTES

Calayan Skin Care Clinic Now Here in the US!

I visited the newly-opened Calayan Skin Care Clinic in Milpitas last week and got a lecture on how we take for granted our facial health, more especially during these busy summer times. I promised my Aesthetician, Mia Pelayo (she’s so good I can’t belive I slept through) and the clinic owners that I will visit them twice a month and will begin sharing a Calayan facial health tip of the month and here it is:

“It may be unpleasant, but if you wash your face with tepid - cold water, you can keep your face firm while preventing wrinkles. Warm water softens and relaxes the skin, while cold water tightens and firms. Stay away from using hot water on your face.”

Calayan Skin Care Clinic is located at:

1223 S. Park Victoria Dr.

Milpitas, CA, 95035

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

"It's more of an expression maybe of exasperation rather than anything. My smile might have been misunderstood. I have several expressions. I smile when I'm happy, I smile when I'm faced with a very absurd situation...and if I offended certain people, I apologize to them,” President Noynoy Aquino apologizing to those he offended when he was caught on television apparently smiling while being interviewed at the crime scene hours after last week’s bloody hostage-taking. Eight (8) Hong Kong tourists and the hostage taker—a disgruntled former police officer who got terminated from work—were killed during the 11-hour hostage crisis.

Of course, this is one situation when a smile is not appropriate. Especially, when the whole world is watching. But then again, there were subsequent published online photos of policemen taking souvenir shots in front of the fatal tourist bus, smiling for the cameras, again. Tsk..tsk..tsk…
