HONORED @ SILICON VALLEY FESTIVAL

(SAN JOSE, CA) – The horror-themed Philippine film entry, "DEMENTIA” was recently shown and honored with three (3) distinction awards in the San Francisco Global Movie Fest of the Festival of Globe (FOG) – Silicon Valley: Superstar Nora Aunor with The FOG Award of Distinction in Acting, Director Perci Intalan – the FOG Award for Distinction in Directing and actor Jeric Gonzales with the FOG Award for Distinction in Acting. The FOG Awards was held Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Center for Performing Arts in San Jose, CA.

Festival Of Globe is a 10-day jubilant celebration in Silicon Valley, with movies, food, culture, art and grand parade and ran from August 7 and concluded with a grand parade participated by the on Sunday, August, 16, 2015. FOG AWARDS is a premier show that selects winners from over 100 movies already submitted from more than 30 countries. The host of celebrities from Bollywood, Hollywood, Latino World, Europe, China and Far East, top movie makers, independent movie makers and investors had descended into this technology capital from and around the globe. FOG screened short films, documentaries, feature films and Music Videos submitted by independent filmmakers from around the world. “Dementia’ is the FOG Official Selection from the Philippines and held its Special VIP Screening last Tuesday, August 11 @ 5:00PM at Theater # 8 of Camera 12 Theaters in San Jose, CA.

The FOG is ran by a non-profit organization, the Federation of Indo Americans of Northern California. Its arm, the San Francisco Global Movie Fest “features the best of world cinema with a gateway to Silicon Valley that fosters creative and technical talent,” according to its website. “We present the newest and best films from around the world, and we do everything in our power to make sure that our audience learns something along the way - about other cultures, about the topic at hand, about the experience from the filmmakers themselves. By bringing the best of world cinema to Silicon Valley, San Francisco Global Movie Fest presents the region and the film industry with a singular platform that empowers creative talent in the most advanced technical hub amongst premier wealth creators.”

The “Dementia” team - Nora Aunor, Perci Intalan, Jeric Gonzales, Jun Robles Lana, Ferdinand Lapuz and their entourage were officially invited to participate and receive the honors but were unable to attend due to schedule conflict, according to the FOG Awards Philippine Team Leader/Representative, Bradford Adkins. The FOG Founder/Convener, Romesh K Japra, MD and Chair Coordinator, Fasi Khurram, MD thank the Philippines for their participation this year and are looking forward already to next year.

“Dementia,” the directorial debut of Perci Intalan, also won the 2015 St Tropez International Film Festival’s Best Foreign Language Film and the Best Actress Award in a Foreign Language Film for Superstar Nora Aunor awarded at the Hotel Westminster last May 16 in Nice, France.
