SIR CHIEF AND MAYA
SET ON WORLD TOUR
TO-BE SEEN IN THE CITY
Of all the numerous teleseryes available on cable TV, there is only one show I am able to watch due to work and personal loads – and it’s “Be Careful With My Heart.” To my surprise, I am not the only one who chose the endearing love story between a maid and her businessman employer to spend their precious limited viewing time with every week night. The teleserye teaches positive Filipino family values without being preachy. It touches and warms the heart without being all mushy. It is maybe for these reasons that the show has successfully transformed into a global phenomenon among TFC audiences.
The cast continue to pack mall tours and its recent appearances in the Sinulog and Dinagyang festivals attracted record-breaking attendance. It’s official sound track also established outstanding sales records. Further proof of its extra-ordinariness is its most recent nomination in the prestigious 2013 New York Festivals World’s Best Television and Film, set in Las Vegas Nevada on April 9.
And now – its own World Tour is set to entertain live audiences in Asia, Middle East, Europe and the United States!
We tried contacting The Filipino Channel (TFC) for about dates and venues but did not get any further information as of press time.
We will update once more information are made available.

The Perkins Twins team with Edsa Shangri-La, Manila to provide first International Tennis Academy in the Philippines
(Manila, Philippines) – The Perkins Twins (Jesse and Christian), 19 year old Grand Prix Doubles Champions from the Bay Area in California, singers, fashion models and actors, announced Tuesday, February 12, 2013, that they have teamed with the Edsa Shangri-La, Manila to form the Perkins Twins Tennis Academy (PTTA). Located in Ortigas, Philippines at the Edsa Shangri-La, Manila, the Perkins Twins Tennis Academy (PTTA) is an International tennis development organization that caters to all levels and ages of tennis. As the first International Tennis Academy in the Philippines, respect, focus, faith and hard work form the foundation for tennis training with a goal to assist each athlete in achieving success on and off the tennis court.
According to Jesse, “The Perkins Twins Tennis Academy (PTTA) is more than a tennis training academy. At the PTTA, we want our junior campers to grow intellectually and physically to better cope with the demands of a younger generation; to prepare them to become the future athletes and leaders of the Philippines.”
Added Christian, “The Perkins Twins Tennis Academy (PTTA) fulfills a goal of the Perkins family to give something back to the Philippines. Having recently moved back to Manila to pursue tennis opportunities and also to enter Philippine entertainment, the Perkins family wants to bring tennis to the forefront of Filipino society. The PTTA will bring awareness to the sport of tennis – a sport that Filipinos have the ability to both enjoy and excel.”
The Director of Tennis for the Perkins Twins Tennis Academy (PTTA) is Tarny Perkins. He coached Jesse and Christian since they were nine years old in Menlo Park, California. Tarny was a touring tennis pro and developed the Perkins Model for tennis, which features a combination of mind strengthening and physical fitness where tennis players are trained to focus and hit the ball as hard as possible, without compromising good health and safety.
“As we continue to enhance the experience for our guests and the general public, we are very excited to offer an elite tennis training academy (PTTA), to leverage our fantastic facilities,” said Ranessa Santos, Health Club Manager of Edsa Shangri-La, Manila.

"Sisterakas", highest grossing Filipino film in history, to screen in 24 U.S. cities starting February 1, Friday
REDWOOD CITY, January 31, 2013 - By the time the 38th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) completed its theater run from Christmas 2012 to January 8, 2013, the Metro Manila Development Authority's (MMDA) final tally of its top-grossing film, Sisterakas from ABS-CBN Star Cinema and Viva Films, was a mind-boggling P342 million.
In less than two years, the box-office record set by The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin (also from ABS-CBN Star Cinema and Viva Films) which was over P331 million, was surpassed by yet another comedy film from the same hit-making director, Wenn V. Deramas, and the same lead star, top TV host and film comedian, Vice Ganda.
In Sisterakas, expect more on-screen outlandish, over-the-top comic chaos as he is joined by the Philippines' Queen of All Media Kris Aquino and Box Office Comedy Queen Ai-Ai De Las Alas. They are supported by the stellar cast of hot young loveteam, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, top female child star, Xyriel Manabal, MMFF 2012 Best Supporting Actress Wilma Doesnt, Tirso Cruz III, Gloria Diaz, DJ Durano, Daniel Matsunaga, and a host of other surprise appearances by popular celebrities.
At the heart of this film is a story of family, ambition, adultery, attempted murder, revenge, and rivalry surrounding two siblings. Yes, it is a cinematic circus of madness at its best that guarantees viewers a good rollicking fun ride with laugh-a-minute misadventures of scheming beings.

Kapamilya child wonder Zaijian Jaranillla will teach fellow kids that nothing good will come out from doing bad things as he teaches the value of contentment in the continuation of his "Wansapanataym" special this Saturday (February 2). In the episode ‘Nicolas Layas,’ Zaijian takes on the role of Nicolas, a young boy who grew up with a wealthy lifestyle. When his parents’ business went bankrupt, Nicolas’ family was forced to work on a tight budget and transfer into a much smaller house. Because of this, Nicolas felt bad and decided to run away from home, thinking that he will be much better off away from his family. In the end, will Nicolas learn to be contented with what his family has and realize that running away from home is a bad thing to do? Together with Zaijian in the ‘Nicolas Layas’ episode are Smokey Manaloto, Katya Santos, and Boboy Garovillo. It was written by Raymond Diamzon and directed by Jon ‘Sponky’ Villarin. DOES VHONG FEEL INSECURE WITH HIS “IT’S SHOWTIME” CO-HOST BILLY?
Billy Crawford guests on “Toda Max” this Saturday (February 2) where he competes with Vhong Navarro in a series of showdowns to impress Angel Locsin.
When asked if they face this kind of tight competition in real life, Vhong answered, “There’s no competition between me and Billy. We treat each other almost like siblings especially on It’s Showtime where we are co-hosts. We don’t feel insecure or jealous of each other at all,” he said.
“We have our own talents; for example, apart from dancing, he excels more in singing while I’m more experienced in comedy,” he added.
But will they be able to use these talents to impress Isabel (Angel) on “Toda Max”? Pao (Billy) will try to prove that he is more worthy of Isabel so he will challenge Justin (Vhong) to a basketball showdown. Just like in the teleserye “Princess and I”, spectators will be divided between ‘Team Pao’ and ‘Team Justin’. Who will win Princess Isabel’s hand in the end?
