KRISTA RANILLO OPENS ISLAND PACIFIC; JOINS “KRISTO” IN THE BAY AREA-MARCH 7th

Tongues just won’t stop wagging in Los Angeles these days, where Krista Ranillo graced the grand opening of the latest Island Pacific Supermarket last Friday early afternoon in the Canoga Park area. According to reliable sources, in the evening of the same day, the Pacquiao couple, Manny and Jinkee came also. The King of the Ring did a little mini-concert while his wife gleefully listens with friends. Is it true though, that Krista was also enjoying the music upstairs? Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Reportedly, days before also, the two ladies, Krista and Jinkee were spotted just a few feet away of each other, shopping at The Grove along La Brea District in LA. Again, not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Whew! Finally, the Bay Area will be able to see the highly-controversial, Krista Ranillo, perform live as part of the huge cast of the upcoming Passion Play-Senakulo “Kristo” on March 7, 2010, Sunday, 4pm at the Chabot College Performing Arts Center in Hayward, CA.

Krista will play Veronica, the girl who wiped Jesus’ face with her cloth during the carrying of the cross. Her dad, Mat Ranillo III will be portraying his signature role of Jesus. This spectacular play includes a great cast of actors led by theversatile character actor Joji Isla, Suzette Ranillo, Jackie Castillejo, Lilibeth Ranillo, Thage Monteclaro, Ryan Ortiz, with Fr. Geoffrey Baraan (Pastor of St. Anne’s Parish, Union City ) and award winning actress Gloria Sevilla together with 30 plus dancers from the Steps Styles & Spotlights School of Dance.

Krista was last seen in the highly popular show “May Bukas Pa” in which she garnered good reviews for her portrayal as the bread winner of her family. Krista was also in the cover of the recent Star Studio magazine in which she had a 30 page article written about her showbiz history and her family.

“Kristo” is a story of our Lord Jesus done in a Filipino dance-musical drama- pantomime form. There’s no dialogue, just music and movements and Filipino songs in between scenes.
