Charice to appear on People, Vogue, Rolling Stones, US Weekly Magazines

(Sets the bar higher for other Filipino artists)

Charice appeared in the flesh in front of the mainstream media’s bigwigs, editorial and writing staff in New York City last Thursday, Juy 8th and performed her cover version of Beyonce’s Halo. Prior to that, she first entertained the staff with her Billboard hit single ‘Pyramid’ and a little of Canadian Justin Bieber’s ‘Baby’.

The magazines’ staff couldn’t contain their excitement on the Charice experience that they immediately posted their comments on Twitter, as follows:

US Weekly posted “Charice just stopped by and amazed us with her singing! (She can even imitate Justin Bieber!”

Ian Drew, Senior Music Editor tweeted: “Charice was AMAZING today. SangBeyonce’s “Halo” and brought the office down!”

Ryan Casey, celebrity cartoonist tweeted: “Wow, Charice is in the office and just performed “Halo”. Amazing.”

Seventeen Mag tweeted: “Charice is coming by our offices in a bit. How excited are you to see her on Glee next season?”

She visited South Korea on July 11th and appeared in the show that made her internationally - SBS “StarKing” last July 12th. Her itinerary included the MBC radio show “A Bae Chulsoo’s Music camp” on the 14th and the SBS “Kim Jungeun’s Chocolate”, all in South Korea .

Her complete album tour includes the following Asian cities:

  • Korea (July 11 to 15)

  • Philippines (July 15 to 18) – Warner Music Philippines

  • Japan (July 19 to 21) – Warner Music Japan

  • Thailand (July 21 to 23) - Warner Music Thailand , Charice in Thailand

  • Malaysia (July 24 to 26) - Warner Music Malaysia

After landing the covers of all these popular American magazines, she is slated to appear as the main character opposite the lead star, Lea Michele in the hit and Emmy-ridden TV show, “Glee”.

Now, that’s what you call international fame! Clearly, Charice had established a higher bar among Filipino artists for them to equal or even surpass!
