Talks are getting louder that the dream Pacquiao vs Mayweather boxing bout is finally happening in May, 2012. But what is this I am hearing that Vegas will not be the venue for the dream fight but, hold your breaths - Manila, how true? Another “Thrilla’ in Manila?” Wishful thinking, maybe.

Watched 2 outstanding movies last weekend – the “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1” and “Immortals in 3D”. Already on its 2ndweek, “Breaking Dawn” still tops the box office charts this week mainly because of its appealing story which, stripped off its vampire/wolf subplots, is a simple love story, a well-written love story among 3 young people. Robert Pattinson (as Ed), Kristen Stewart (as Bella) & Taylor Lautner (as Jacob) are not the most attractive inHollywood these days (they all have crooked/imperfect set of teeth) but this latest “Twilight” project is well-written, well-acted & well-made (their best work, so far) and will therefore draw the crowds even by sheer word of mouth.

In contrast, I can sum “Immortals” as maximum cruelty shown in 3D (hundreds of decapitation scenes in slow motion, literal piercing of the eyes, castration scene in front view, literally boiling human female species – man, it never ends). The other movie where it’s being compared to - “300,” is far superior, though, for its better storyline and direction.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

“I can’t really explain it into words. We all have values set in our lives. It’s been a rough year in my personal life. I have a hard time dealing with my loses. I hope that no one has to go through all these. I just needed to go. I’d rather not talk about it, though. ” – By TV5 “Paparazzi” & “Juicy” host, DJ Mo Twister, on why he quit show business abruptly (after a very public and ‘tweeted’ break-up with actress Rhian Ramos), sold his belongings and have to leave the Philippines altogether to move and move-on in New York.
