Manila Mail's Richard Lao & Los Angeles-based Show Producer, Jackie Y Regala were co-workers at Manila Bulletin in Intramuros, Manila years back. Last Saturday, they met again at South SF's Intramuros Restaurant during TV5's "Pinoy Explorer hosted by Aga Muhlach" launch. Small world..hehehe

The San Francisco Host Lions Club and the San Francisco Circle Lions Club posed for a group picture after a Health Fair held at the International Church in San Pablo Ave, San Pablo, CA.The two Past District Governor "Laredos" were also in attendance. Always matter-of-factly, Yes, Vice Ganda prefers to be referred to in the female gender, as I have gathered. Her first comedy show, “Comedy Knockout” in Northern California happening this Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the Cache Creek Casino in Broox, CA at 8:00PM is expected to be a huge hit as the show’s tickets were sold out months before the actual performance date. Tough luck to those who haven’t made their Labor Day Weekend plans to go to Cache Creek Casino this weekend as there are no more hotel rooms, no more tickets available!

Reportedly, the Los Angeles leg of Vice Ganda’s show, due to insistent public demand opened another show – an earlier matinee (5:00PM) on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at the same venue – The Grove of Anaheim. The main show is scheduled at 8:30PM. Both shows were also sold-out.

Vice Ganda’s prominence in the entertainment scene started in the Manila comedy bar circuits, then to TV, movies & now, the comedy concert scene. Her brand of entertainment is sheer wit, intelligence, fast, impromptu punchlines and total fun.

Admirers Mob Aga Muhlach in Milpitas!

Talks circulated last week that Aga Muhlach’s appearance at the Seafood City in Milpitas, CA is cancelled. I got some of the inquiry calls and there were direct posts on my Facebook inquiring about the cancellation. I even got a request on my Facebook from some quarters to remove my post about Aga Muhlach going to Milpitas because it’s not true. I called our office to verify and was told that Aga is a GO in Milpitas, contrary to spreading rumors & talks.

TV5 Executives led by Jeffrey H. Remigio (he moved from ABS-CBN International), Ms. Sony J. Jalandoni & Ms. Gigi Sarmenta as coordinated by Los Angeles-based Ms. Jackie Y. Regala held an Aga Muhlach ‘meet & greet’ (launching Aga Muhlach’s new show, “Pinoy Explorer”) with 30 Bay Area community leaders at the Intramuros Verandah at 12 noon where it was announced that not only one – but two stations will be launched last quarter of the year – the Kapatid 5 (where “Pinoy Explorer” hosted by Aga Muhlach will be shown) and Aksyon TV International (their news channel). The man of the hour, Aga Muhlach was in high spirits, enjoying the company & conversation.

In the afternoon, the greatest actor of my generation, ALIVE – Aga Muhlach proceeded to Seafood City in Milpitas, CA where he was warmly received by throngs of his supporters as Mayor Joe Estevez gives him an official City Pin of Welcome.

Mali ang chismis, April, – Aga Muhlach did not only show up at Milpitas, he filled it with his supporters, swept the place cleanly and with little or no effort at all, proving once and for all – you can’t stop a good man down.
