BAY AREA TEENER WINS SINGING CONTEST ANEW
SEEN IN THE CITY:
(MILPITAS, CA) – Following her recent LA Live 2015 win in February, Bay Area’s Mika Gorospe, 14, wins again, this time as 2nd Runner Up Teen Idol 2016 out of 300 teenagers (ages ranging from 12 – 18 years old) who auditioned last April 8, 2016 in Elk Grove, CA. She won cash and other prizes that will go towards her College Fund.
She performed Journey’s, “Open Arms” and finished off with “One Night Only” from “Dreamgirls” version by American Idol’s Jennifer Hudson. The excited Mika says after the event that, “The competition served as inspiration to me to be better every time I perform in public. It is also my way to be a great role model for the youth.”
The contests also drum up more interest in Mika as she now has more than 12,000 followers in her Facebook Fan page account where almost more than half are youth. She interacts with most of them, giving them personal cover versions of their most requested songs.
After Mika’s winning performance at LA Live 2016 in February at Monterey Park, CA, where she was vested the “Special EEI NextGen Award,” she was also given a privilege to record her own original single in Los Angeles. The single is called “Believe”, to be produced by EEI NextGen! Finally, all things are coming up roses for Mika!
Mika’s personal vocal teacher, Ms. Pam Serrano personally co-wrote “Believe’ for her, based on Mika’s real life experiences and struggles in pursuit of that elusive dream. Make sure to follow her at www.mikag.net and on Facebook: Mika Gorospe
