Crossroads Christian Center brethren gave a surprise birthday party for Ptr Andy & Sis Abby Antenor last October 9. Sis Abby celebrated her 50th birthday. The women led by Sis Ruth Roque initiated a party in the Embassy Suites in Millbrae. A tribute was given to Sis Abby by her parents( Bro Abraham & Sis Lita),children (Kim, Brian & Tim) and 12 women from CCC. A beautiful Tagalog song was rendered by her children as well. Ptr Andy & Sis Abby gave their remarks at the end of the party. Thank God for the awesome fellowship, delicious foods, relaxing ambience with a water view, and a great time to reminisce God's faithfulness in the lives of two yielded servants of the Lord. After a week of getting crowned as 2010 King of Club Royale International Foundation, Manila Mail’s Bradford Adkins was named ‘Journalist of the Year’ with no less than California Senator Leland Yee, Ph D personally awarding him the Certificate and trophy last Saturday night, October 16, 2010 at the Patio Espanol in San Francisco.

The night’s partial list of awardees, presented by Lodor Entertainment (Dolly Baclig & Louis Blanch, Producers), also include Jisselle Justin Kelsey as Child Performer of the Year, Richard Lao as Photo-Journalist of the Year, Raymond Richie as Male Entertainer of the Year, Tess Gregorio as Female Entertainer of the Year, Selfa Haenny as Ballroom Dancer of the Year, Tess Saldana as Restaurant Manager of the Year, Dr. Wilson Lim, DMD, Dr. Estrella Trinidad, DMD and Dr. Josephine Weber, DMD as Dentists of the Year, among others. The event was emceed by Fel Amistad. Music provided by Nolly Yamson. JB Sarte was the Event Coordinator while Overall-Director was Rami Banaag.

GMA Pinoy TV’s mel Tiangco is COMGUILD’s first ever Hall of Fame Awardee

GMA News pillar and 24 ORAS anchor Mel Tiangco was recently named as COMGUILD’s first ever Hall of Fame Awardee for winning the “Most Outstanding News Presenter” award for three consecutive times in the past years. Above photo shows Tiangco, third from right, receiving the award.

Tiangco, who co-anchors GMA's flagship newscast 24 ORAS with Mike Enriquez, is also the Executive Vice President of the GMA Kapuso Foundation. She also hosts the Sunday talk show MEL & JOEY with Joey de Leon. Both 24 ORAS and MEL & JOEY are enjoyed by viewers around the world through GMA Pinoy TV.

Organized by the COMGUILD Center for Journalism, the panel of judges for the COMGUILD Awards is composed of college deans, as well as chairs of Mass Communication departments, from different universities in the Philippines.

Philippine Star Columnist wins “Best Opinion Column’ Award

Wilson Lee Flores, columnist of Philippine Star, Realty entrepreneur, College teacher and S Magazine editor-in-chief also won as Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) held last Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the University of Santo Tomas(UST) Medicine Auditorium. He won the “Best Opinion Column” Award. Wilson Lee Flores is also a previous recipient of three (3) Palanca literary awards. He also teaches journalism, history and literature subjects at La Consolacion College Manila. He studied at Ateneo de Manila University and Beijing University. He is invited to be a guest speaker at the Kyoto University, Japan this coming December.
