After months of speculation and contract negotiations, ABS-CBN has officially announced that blockbuster actor Derek Ramsay has transferred to TV5, following the giant footsteps of Aga Muhlach & Sharon Cuneta. Again, when there's smoke, there's fire. Who's next?

Reportedly, it will be the biggest assembly of entertainment cast and crew ever imported from the Philippines to the US for a Filipino event, ever!

Bong Osorio, VP/Head of ABS-CBN Corporate Communications released Monday, an official statement about Derek Ramsey's transfer to TV5, to wit:

"Derek Ramsay has decided to transfer to TV5. For months, ABS-CBN has exerted efforts to make him stay as a Kapamilya. TV5, however, offered him an amount that was difficult for him to refuse. We thank Derek for the many years he has been with ABS-CBN."

The Top 2 highest-grossing Filipino films of all-time, Praybeyt Benjamin & No Other Woman both starred Derek Ramsay, both produced by ABS-CBN’s Star Cinema. According to www.Pep.ph, it’s not about the money that made him to decide and send an email notification to ABS-CBN to not to renew his contract anymore, after his 6-year stint with them. Being a sports fanatic, Derek is excited about getting involved in TV5’s Amazing Race Philippines and the Olympics. For him, it’s about the change and ABS-CBN didn’t offer him that. Oo nga naman.
