10-YEAR OLD GOLD MEDALIST COMPETES AGAIN IN WCOPA

(LONG BEACH, CA) – Like the thousands who applied and the very few that are chosen, Bay Area’s JanElle Feraro, 10, will compete in the 20th Annual World Competition of Performing Arts (WCOPA) event, against other singers, dancers, actors, models, and instrumentalists, July 8 – 17, 2016 in Long Beach, CA. This international meet is often cited as the official “Talent Olympics” for performers and is the only event of its kind!

“I am really excited about performing and competing again this time around. I practiced several powerful songs and watch TFC’s The Voice Kids a lot to improve more on my craft,” says the little belter, JanElle, in a chance interview with her during the Appreciation Party for ‘Through The Eyes Of A Child,’ a benefit concert featuring the music of Pianist/Composer/Singer Noriel Adricula, Cellist Charles Wang, the Bantay Bata Voices (JanElle is one of the kid members) held at the TFC Studios Tuesday, June 28th.

WCOPA performers are selected from the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean, Central and South America, Europe, Asia and South Africa. Contestants from over 50 countries will be vying for the gold and more than $450,000 in scholarships and prizes from New York Film Academy, New York Conservatory for Film & TV, Millennium Dance Complex, LA Models, Oleg Cassini, Indasoul Records and CSM Words/Music.

Saturday, July 9, the week of events kicks-off with WORLDSTARS Boot Camp, 22 workshops presented by the top industry experts such as Kenya Clay, dance credits include Glee, The Grammys, SuperBowl...Darienne Arnold, top fashion runway model in Paris, Toyko, New York...Talent manager, Susie Mains representing celebrities such as Katherine McPhee ("Scorpion") and Tobey Maguire, ("Spiderman") to name a few.

Sunday, July 10 at 6pm at the Long Beach Performing Arts Center Plaza, the public is invited to the spectacular Opening Ceremonies/Parade of Nations with hundreds of contestants parading and performing in colorful, traditional costuming from around the world. On Wednesday, July 13 at 7pm, the Plaza will be magically transformed into the Worldstars Vil-lage hosted by team’s South Africa and Jamaica. This evening is packed with performances from WCOPA's former Grand Champions and show stopping performances by South African and Jamaican contestants. Opening ceremonies and Worldstars Village is free and we wel-come the Long Beach community.

Friday, July 15, Final Show will be held at the Terrace Theatre in the Long Beach Performing Arts Center. The pre-show starts at 6:30PM, followed by the 7:00PM – 9:00PM live webcast. You will see the best talent selected from 50 countries vying for Championship titles plus a special performance by Jed Madela, the very first Filipino to win the WCOPA Grand Champion Title (he won in 2005) and 7 times double platinum recording star. Finals judges include world-renowned casting director HARRIET GREENSPAN, LA Models’ CRISTA CLAYMAN, 2 time Grammy winner producer, JEFF WEBER, Anita Mann, Emmy Award winning choreographer, KEITH NAISBITT, Senior Agent at the Agency for the Performing Arts has represented such artists as Whitney Houston & Culture Club.
