‘Won’t Last A Day (Without You)” Now Showing in mainstream US Cinemas
(After “Praybeyt Benjamin” & ‘No Other Woman’ rake it in at the US box office, mainstream theaters now wider open to Filipino movies!)
SEEN IN THE CITY
In this newest movie collaboration between Viva Films & Star Cinema, Sarah Geronimo shines anew, as George Harrison Apostol/ DJ Heidee giving love advice to her hit radio program listeners. Sarah essays the role of comedic/dramatic DJ Heidee very effortlessly and effectively. She switches from funny girl to sympathetic one with ease.
In contrast,Gerald Anderson suffered in the acting department as Andrew, whose girlfriend, Melissa (Megan Young) is having love problems because of her boyfriend's (Gerald Anderson) womanizing ways. Gerald can’t and didn’t successfully separate his Andrew character from his “Budoy” character on his current TV hit advocacy-series. His voice & tone is very “Budoy.” Even his haircut and appearance reminded me of “Budoy.” I fault the rookie director for allowing this to happen.
Megan Young as Melissa did not deliver what is expected of her and it showed glowingly in the very critical dinner/confrontation scene with Gerald where she failed to convey the emotion of the betrayed girlfriend who found out the ugly truth just when she’s ready to reconcile.
Overall though, it’s a very entertaining movie and I enjoyed the insights shown happening inside a radio station booth where they showed the various computer software applications now readily available to DJs when playing sound effects and song requests to highlight the listening experience. In other words, the movie offered something new to me.

A New Branch For WarmSprings Home Health Care!
Warmsprings Home Health Care owned and operated by a well-known philanthropist Alphie de Guzman headed the grand opening of the newest branch office in San Leandro last week. Coinciding with this celebration was the brithday party for her and her daughter Alphian de Guzman. The office blessing was officiated by Fr. Nicholas who performed a traditional blessing with Latin prayer. In attendance were hundreds of employees , guests relatives and friends.
"I am so grateful to our Lord for all the bountiful blessings showered upon us, my family ,our emplyees, relatives and friends. This is the 6th branch we have which I started some years ago and come January we're opening another one again located behind this newest location on Marina Blvd. ", exclaimed Alphie proudly, president and CEO of Warmsprings Home Health Care".
Among those who graced the occasion included myself, publicist of the business, my husband Romy representing the Islanders TV , Lyn Trinidad , officers and employees , with the able assistance of the patriarch of A & M Family Home Care, Mario de Guzman.
The umbrella branch is located on Whitney Place in Fremont housing about 80 employees; San Jose, Walnut Creek , and now San Leandro.
The business specializes in home health care serving the entire Northern California.
Owner/CEO Alphie de Guzman is woman with a generous heart. She continues to help those people in need, and one of her special projects is "Sagip Kapamilya" which has been the recipient of some of her noteworthy programs. Her previous project which generated tremendous assistance from the community was the "Fashion with a Cause" featuring Rene Salud and proceeds were doled out to Sagip Kapamilya.
Currently, she's assisting Charito Benipayo, her publicist in her special project "Feeding the Hungry" which yours truly had initiated under the banner of GFWC-BAWC, Bay Area Woman's Club. Both Charito and Alphie are now working together raising funds , seeking community assistance in sending help , donations or in kind to be doled out to distressed families hit by the devastating typhoon Sendong.
