Janine reveals, “Maswerte ako kasi yung team na kasama ko kapag pictorial, sila-sila palagi. Sobrang gaan nila katrabaho, at kilalang-kilala na nila ako. Sila talaga yung reason kung bakit lumalabas na maganda yung mga shoot. I really can’t take any credit for it kasi ‘di ba, kapag shoot maraming pre-prod. May concept, may styling, eh dadating ka lang naman, so parang ako na yung least na pwedeng mag-take credit para doon.”
Anticipation rises as countdown to Kapusong Pinoy Vancouver and Anaheim begins
With only a few days left before the Kapusong Pinoy fever hits Canada and the US, Philippine Comedy Queen Ai-Ai delas Alas together with Christian Bautista, Alden Richards, Jonalyn Viray and Betong Sumaya is busy preparing for GMA Pinoy TV’s Kapusong Pinoy Vancouver and Kapusong Pinoy Anaheim happening next weekend.
“Mga Kapuso sa Los Angeles at Vancouver, malapit na malapit na po tayong magsama-sama para i-celebrate ang 10th anniversary ngGMA Pinoy TV! Ngayon pa lang po ay mag-tweet na tayo at mag-post using the hashtag #Sampuso,” says Ai-Ai, who currently stars in the romantic-comedy series Let the Love Begin.
The returning Kapuso is looking forward to bringing the Kapuso experience to her kababayan abroad as they commemorate GMA Pinoy TV’s ten years of touching hearts across the globe.
“Wag kayong mawawala diyan dahil sabay-sabay nating mae-experience ang saya bilang proud Pinoy at proud Kapuso!” she adds.
Rehearsals are underway for the two shows that both promise to be as memorable as they are entertaining.
Christian Bautista, who stars in the upcoming Kapuso drama series My Mother’s Secret and regularly appears in GMA’s variety program Sunday All Stars, is also filled with excitement for the upcoming show. “After the long wait it’s finally here! We’re excited to finally go to Canada and the US for the GMA Pinoy TV shows. I’m also very excited to perform with Ms. Ai-Ai again. So get ready! It’s gonna be fun!” he exclaims.
Meanwhile, Kapuso leading man Alden Richards is equally pumped up to perform before his fellow Filipinos. “Ilang tulog na lang at makakasama na namin ang ating mga Kapuso sa Vancouver at Anaheim. We’ve been preparing for the shows and are very excited to give them a fun-filled Kapuso concert experience!” shares Alden, who recently joined the country’s longest-running noon time show Eat Bulaga as one of its hosts.
As GMA Pinoy TV pays tribute to its loyal subscribers over the past decade, audiences will be treated to a night of non-stop fun, laughter and music. There will also be games and surprises, as well as a meet and greet session, where fans can have their photos taken with the Kapuso artists, following each show.

GMA Network gears up for broadcast industry’s future
(Quezon City, Philippines) - GMA Network is pulling all stops to secure its dominant position in the broadcast industry, according to the Company’s Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon.
In his report during the company’s annual stockholders’ meeting on May 20 (Wednesday), Gozon announced that, despite strategic efforts to manage costs last year, they remained committed in ensuring their competitiveness.
“Thanks to a thorough review of our business needs vis-a-vis our capabilities, and the industry situation as a whole, all transmitter and other upgrades that were already in the pipeline were still implemented despite our belt-tightening,” he said.
Moreover, the Network continued to enhance its capacity to produce content in high definition in relation to the eventual shift from analog to digital TV.
“Our bigger studios in our Quezon City headquarters were also upgraded to high definition. Likewise, all our OB van facilities have been wired with new broadcast peripherals and are now capable of multi-format including HD recording,” Gozon said.
In relation to the Network’s financial performance, Gozon assured stockholders that the company’s fundamentals remain “sound and good.”
GMA ended 2014 with an EBITDA of P2.925 billion while consolidated net income settled at P1.010 billion primarily due to the absence of political ads.
Meanwhile, other business units and subsidiaries of the Network posted positive results, recording total revenues of P1.304 billion or 7 percent higher compared to 2013.
For 2015, Gozon affirmed that the company is focused on growing and strengthening the business. “We are ready to move forward, armed with our plans to further expand or improve all areas of our business,” he said noting on strong indications that 2015 will be a much better year for the company.
“To be sure, our net income for the first quarter of 2015 was already 25 percent more than our net income in the first quarter of 2014,” announced Gozon.
The Network previously reported that revenues for the first three months improved by 5 percent to P3.006 billion mainly on higher airtime sales from Channel 7, GMA News TV and GMA Radio.
Operating expenses slightly went up by 3 percent to P2.432 billion while EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) settled at P986 million, up 20 percent from last year.
