2 MORE REASONS

TO WATCH

“THE VOICE”

SEEN IN THE CITY

(LOS ANGELES, CA) – NBC’s “The Voice” Season 9 Blind Auditions reached fever pitch excitement last Monday when Fil-Am Amy Vachal of Brooklyn NY (accompanied by her Filipina mom and brother) performed and all four (4) coaches freaked out. The song lyrics as well as her voice are soothing to the ears: Stars shining bright above you; Night breezes seem to whisper "I love you;" Birds singing in the sycamore tree; Dream a little dream of me…as her voice resonated like the silky smooth beaches of Cebu, Philippines where she traces her roots from - Amy Vachal sang the 1931 classic "Dream a Little Dream of Me." and the judges gave her standing ovations!

Now there are two (2) more reasons to watch “THE VOICE” - the guitar playing Nora Jones-sound-a-like AMY VACHAL of Brooklyn NY & smooth operator TIM ATLAS of San Jose, CA!

With Adam Levine’s team already full (he said he felt sad being precluded from picking her), all three (3) remaining coaches – Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams turned their chairs on Amy and wanted her! Adam blurted “My team’s now full, otherwise I would’ve turned around first. Not only am I sad that I didn’t get to turn for you, but you could win this whole thing. You are one of the greatest and prettiest contestants, ever!”

And she picked Pharrell (reports have it that his mother is also a Filipina, once a beauty queen) to the disappointment of the other 2 coaches (Blake openly declared a forthcoming ‘steal’).

Another contestant that attracted attention is Tim Atlas who smoothly sang in the auditions, Ed Sheeran’s “Give Me Love.” The 23-year old Tim is a mixture of Filipino, Cherokee Indian and Caucasian, per online inquiry in his Tumbler account (www.TimAtlas.tumblr.com). He picked Coach Gwen.

According to NBC website, Tim's parents separated when he was very young, and after bouncing between households, he decided to stay with his dad. When his dad lost his job, the two struggled, and as an outlet, Tim surrounded himself with music. He joined the marching band, jazz band and drumline, and taught himself guitar. After he graduated high school, he went to college and earned his bachelor's in photography. He now performs solo and works as a studio engineer on other artists' records and albums.

Just a little more than two (2) weeks ago, “The Voice” won the 67th Prime Time Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program, besting the likes of ‘The Amazing Race,” “Dancing With The Stars,” “Project Runway,” “So You Think You Can Dance,” and “Top Chef’ – an honor continuously denied to another once popular, now fading singing competition, “American idol.” It has become extremely popular for its contest mechanics involving turning judges’ chairs, blind audition and sole criteria for making it step-by-step, which is the voice. Add to this the constant and oftentimes unscripted exchange of edgy bromance antics between Adam and Blake, numerous celebrity mentors, the active use of social media in the middle of the show, and now there are two more reasons to watch “The Voice,” – Amy Vachal and Tim Atlas!

WE ARE ROOTING FOR YOU BOTH - CONGRATULATIONS & MORE GOOD LUCK, AMY & TIM!
