The airport arrival scene when the TV5 team landed at LAX is chaotic, yet happy. TV President was there early, together with his VP for International Creative & Programming Jeffrey Remigio, to welcome with warm arms Derek Ramsay, Mariel Rodriguez, Talentadong Pinoy Grand Champion Astroboy, Willie Revillame & his whole Wil Time BigTime group, TV5 Production, Marketing & Executive crew. Dra Vicki Belo with her PR Consultant from Belo Medical Group (who watched the American Idol finals, in person, last Tuesday) were also at the airport to say ‘Hi’ to the arriving group. The group proceeded to the nearby The Hyatt House in El Segundo, CA where they were treated with a warm dinner reception. I was informed that Superstar Nora Aunor arrived in LA a day earlier while Aga Muhlach, Ruffa Gutierrez, Perci Intalan et al, will follow the next day.

The combined Wil Time BigTime Show together with TV5 Launch at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles is a testament to hardwork and dedication that got fully rewarded in the end. The opening number showing the all-blue Astroboy doing his thing in the middle of pitch black stage, glowing in the dark, alone, no sets, no nothing, but for the music so poignant you can’t ignore the feeling of getting hooked, is so unique it merits the loud applause it got from the overflowing audiences.

Congratulations to the whole staff and production crew of TV5 for the epic success of their US launch in Los Angeles. We are looking forward to a bigger success (Manny V. Pangilinan is meeting separately the media people in a ceremonial contract signing with the heads of The Dish Network) of your next launch – on Saturday, June 2, 2012 6PM at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in downtown San Francisco!

American Idol Hee Jun Han Visits Pacquiao

They met last Tuesday, May 22, briefly, when Manny Pacquiao rounded the media covering the American Idol Final Performance Night. Top 9 Finalist Hee Jun Han said hello to The Champ and that was it.

This Columnist was asked by Hee Jun Han where did Manny Pacquiao go after because he wanted to get to know him more. I gave him my business card and asked him to give me a call if he was serious.

Minutes after, he did call and the rest is history. Special acknowledgements to Celebrity Stylist Vanessa Mercardo and the Team Pacquiao for making the meeting between the two possible.
