Abstract- Purify thin films composed of La doped with SnO2 (La:SnO2), with diverse doping ratios ranged from 1-3 wt%, are prepared by spray pyrolysis method at 250 ᵒC from tin chloride as precursors with 0.1M concentration, and with additive of Lanthanum chloride as a dopant at the selected ratio. The effect of La doping ratio on structural and optical properties for synthesized thin films are studied by X-ray diffraction and UV-visible absorbance.XRD measurements showed that the polycrystalline structure comes similar to SnO2 standardized peaks for all samples. The crystalline decreases upon the increase in doping ratio. New peaks appeared at the higher ratio for La2O3. Optical properties show when the doping ratio increases up to 3%, the transmittance value will increase up to 68.85% in the visible region. The energy gap is direct transition, and the optical band gap increased from 3.2 to 3.5 eV by increasing La ratio from 0 to 3%.
