Roman Concrete History

Assistant–Lecturer Nareen Riyadh Raouf at the department of Architectural Engineering gave an online seminar entitled “Roman Concrete History” on 2-May-2020 at 3:00 PM: Roman concrete called opus caementicium in Latin was used from the late Roman Republic until the end of the Roman Empire. It was used to buildmonuments, large buildings, and infrastructures such as roads and bridges. The Seminar presented some of the works constructed using this type of building materials in addition to exploring the advantages that using it applied to the ancient Roman architecture.
