Assistant-Lectr. Suhair S. Al-Faris at the department of Business Administration gave a seminar entitled Forensic Linguistics on 3-October-2019 at 1:30 PM in Business Administration Department. Hall No. 8204: It is the application of linguistic techniques to investigate crimes in which language data form part of evidence in order to support police statements.

It is an integral part of applied linguistics by which Forensic Linguists analyze:

Statutes/laws

Legal procedures

Courtroom language

Language used as evidence in criminal and civil court cases.

Like other Applied Linguists, a Forensic Linguist has to teach lawyers, judges and jurors the way linguistic analysis works in relation to specific legal issues.
