SELFITIS AFFECTS CONCENTRATION OF HIGHER EDUCATION STUDENTS DURING LECTURE HOURS

Abstract- The American Psychiatric Association saying that taking ‘Selfie’ is a mental disorder and termed it as ‘selfies’. Selfie practice is more prevalent among higher education students because they are more concerned about their self-image. If the self-esteem of higher education students decreases it will affect their self-confidence. This research has been carried out with the students and teachers of Cihan University-Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq. Researchers found that 88% of higher education students using their Smartphones during lecture hours and 100% of teachers expressed their worries that this “SELFITIS” affects the concentration of their students.
