SELFITIS AFFECTS CONCENTRATION OF HIGHER EDUCATION STUDENTS DURING LECTURE HOURS

Assistant-Lectr. NIAZ AHMED ABDUL MAJID at the department of Sport gave a seminar entitled SELFITIS AFFECTS CONCENTRATION OF HIGHER EDUCATION STUDENTS DURING LECTURE HOURS on 21-November-2019 at 1:00 PM in VIP HALL: The American Psychiatric Association saying that taking ‘Selfie’ is a mental disorder and termed it as ‘SELFITIS’. Selfie practice is more prevalent among higher education students, because they are more concerned about their self-image. If the self-esteem of higher education students decreases it will affects their self-confidence. This research has been carried out with the students and teachers of Cihan University-Erbil, Kurdistan region, Iraq. Researchers found that, 88% of higher education students using their Smartphone during lecture hours and 100% of teachers expressed their worries that this “SELFITIS” affects the concentration of their students.
