Lecturer Sirvan Aminzadeh at the department of Translation gave a seminar entitled “Actor-Network Theory (ANT): A Sociological Approach to Study Translation” on 27-January-2020 at 12:00 PM in building No Building 1, Hall 105. This presentation aims to introduce Actor-Network Theory as a complementary tool of analysis of translation product and process in the socio-technical context, along with other sociological approaches to translation. ANT is effective in making translation researches more objective and analytical. It disentangles translation researchers and scholars from viewing translation as one-level representative production or process; instead, any specific translation is regarded as specific network drown between involved actors (i.e., humans and nonhumans).
