Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ameen Abdulla at the department of General Biology, gave a seminar entitled “EFFECTS OF N-(5-bromo-1H-indole-3-yl) methylene nicotinohydrazide ON THIOACETAMIDE-INDUCED LIVER CIRRHOSIS IN RATS” on 23rd April 2020 at 04:00 PM to 05:00 PM through an online conference (Hangout meet). Hepatoprotecting effects of this compound was evaluated against thioacetamide (TAA)-induced liver cirrhosis in rats. Thirty adult SD rats were randomly separated into five groups of six rats each. TAA-control group showed significant rise in serum liver biochemical markers go together with by a considerable decrease in the level of total protein and albumin in comparison to normal control group. Hepatotoxic group showed decreased CAT and SOD activity and increase MDA.
