Player aligns their hips and feet with the far-side back edge of home plate in a “closed” position. Player coils/loads as normal trying to drive the ball back up the middle. The focus of this drill is learning how to pull the ball effectively and comfortably while also getting to an inside pitch. This will also help players who struggle with pulling the ball in the air, getting jammed, under-rotated chest or who are pushy, where their hands rotate before their torso.
