Winter 2015 I designed a house with Bill Hoffman, an architect in Taos. I gave him 30 pages of requirements (what architects call 'program'). The exterior visual design is Pueblo Revival style. The view you see below is the north side, with a shaded porch for hot days.
When the ground thawed, we started construction with Eli Sanchez. I worked as a member of the crew for 9 months, 6 hours a day. Time-lapse videos of the construction process are available on my YouTube page.
428 Valverde Commons Dr, showing vigas, lintels, stepped second story, and recessed windows. The north-facing porch is good for hot summer days. The furnace and water heater are on the second floor.
428 Valverde Commons Dr south side, showing sun shades which fully shade the glass mid-summer and allow full sunlight in mid-winter. This south-facing patio is good on warm spring and fall days. These Siberian Elms are gradually being replaced.
