Painted all day: seven hours. Mostly above shoulder level. Almost all in corners against a wood surface that had to remain free of paint. Thus I’m tired. And I just made a huge salad for a shared dinner plus a presentation this evening on planning your funeral. Only fifteen minutes to lie down between events — and I spend it writing my blog!
But both water heaters got completely connected today. Tomorrow the plumber promises to bring the water softener and filter and connect water. That means we can wash in the utility sink instead of at the hydrant in the garden. I think the gas is connected to where the meter will be (at the street), but I’m sure we will not have gas for another month or so. Still, cold running water connected to the sewer is better than going outside and having the water accumulate in a ‘lime pit’.
The kitchen ceiling is now painted the final color: “Mayonnaise”. Looks nice. Almost all the rest of the house has its primer paint coat and is ready for final color. The shower floor is now laid and most of the main part of the bathroom floor also tiled. No grout yet.
My shelving will not arrive until Monday, I learned today. So we still have to endure a mess. I’m not sure that having shelves will change the ways of the construction crew anyway.
