A simple change makes the garage looks much better. Eli installed the vinyl cove base around the bottom of the garage walls. That dark line defines the space much better so it looks finished. Now I am ready to store stuff against the walls.
Speaking of ‘stuff’, it only seems natural to the work crew to drop their tool bags right in the middle of the doorway or leave a tangle of power cord to snare someone. I can’t hope to retrain them to be more safety conscious, but I can move some of their (and my) stuff onto the shelving that I have ordered. Yes, I ordered it last week. Home Depot tells me that it has ‘shipped’, but the shipper has no evidence of that yet (16 hours later). On other occasions I have received shipment tracking data very promptly. Sigh.
I also ordered the two tall water tanks for the garage. I don’t expect them to ship for a couple of weeks. Meanwhile a local resident has one tall water tank that they want removed. Their plumber will deliver it to me for less than the cost of a new tank. Oops. Just now got an Email saying that the owner may not want it removed soon. Simplifies my life a wee bit.
Painting is moving right along. We finished priming the living room and bedroom yesterday. The tiles are set in the shower floor and we decided on a transition between shower and main bath floor. I’ll get a photo when both sides are ready. Picked grout color for both floor and walls. Found a paint color for the bits of wall above the tile wainscoting around the toilet and sink.
I have three sets of bifold doors. One set (for the laundry) is molded and primed. That will be no problem to paint. But the doors for the closet are louvered wood. I had originally envisioned them to be stained (else I would have bought them primed). I sanded them yesterday, but priming and painting them with a brush will be a royal pain and take ages. We discussed using Eli’s sprayer. The only real problem is that the hose holds a lot of paint — more than will be needed for the doors. It is a trick to empty the hose and save this paint. Short hose (like ten feet) seems not available.
