We are on break from construction for a few days. Eli’s crew has another job to finish, and we are awaiting delivery of critical materials: roof trusses, windows, and beams for lintels and the front porch. I will be on retreat over a long weekend.
I went to the job site today to sweep up and do more landscaping (i.e. remove rocks) only to find the electricians hard at work. They installed the power (circuit breaker) panel and wired garage and much of the kitchen — both are adjacent to the power panel. Some of the study and bedroom are wired.
I discovered that Gus (the electrician) did not have the revised electrical plan, so had to run off to the copy shop for him — I didn’t have one at home either! I also got the dimensions of the bath and outdoor lighting fixtures. Since the front door now opens outward we need to change the location of the front porch light so the door doesn’t block the light.
We tried to locate the vigas (round poles) that form the porch ceiling but decided there would be enough room (and time) to locate the porc after the vigas are in place.
Much of the remaining wire must run through the ceiling space, and without the trusses all we have is sky, which is not very good for running wire.
