Unpacking

My household goods arrived Friday. So I spent a few hours both Saturday and Sunday unpacking about a dozen boxes. Since most of the kitchen cabinets are done I figured I could unpack boxes for the kitchen first. Then, too, I wanted to find my paint brushes, since the one I bought here has disappeared. While unpacking, one of the boxes had this metal sculpture of the Last Supper, so I took the opportunity to test my picture molding. It hangs over the entrance to the kitchen.I have not found all the kitchen boxes because many of them are behind boxes containing art, and there has not been enough room to shuffle boxes around. I also found a large steel bell that now hangs outside my south patio entry. I can act as a doorbell for visitors from the inside path.

Of course I have not found the paint brushes. I say ‘of course’ because I want to repaint the doorframes the same color, but in semi-gloss texture. They are already accumulating fingerprints which don’t wipe off easily. The inside of the bath doorframe was the wrong color, too, so I can cover two birds with one coat. I did, however, find the small galvanized nails that I want to use to put up my Winter lights around the front porch. When we get the switches wired the way I want them that will add a nice touch to the entry.

I have at least two large boxes of linens, but the linen closet has not yet even been begun, so I don’t want to unpack them yet. And there are many boxes of art to unpack. The art will just have to wait. I need to be able to eat and sleep first!
