Thanks for the news clipping of the Bosch organ in Portland. This was ordered 2 1/2 years ago and is the last Bosch organ that Olympic Organ Builders will install: we now work with Kleuker. Kleuker is giving us delivery time of 14 months, altho his normal time (in Germany) is 3-4 years.
Glad to hear that the slides from our African motorcycle tour came. Jonny von Foerster, with whom I made the trip, died in Nigeria and it is still rather painful for his parents [who duplicated and sent the slides].
I dropped down to Frankfurt over the weekend and the weather as so nice that I stayed an extra day and went on the other part of the Rhine—Mainz to Koblenz. The weather was very hot and certainly no day to work! This weekend is a holiday (3 days) again and this time we are camping in the Soling Hills northwest of Göttingen.
Monday - after a wonderful weekend
We had a good, cheap holiday, in spite of the rain Saturday evening. We made a strawberry punch out of fresh strawberries and wine and sat in the tent and sang until midnight. The whole holiday, including transport, cost $7.
We are now in Brackwede but go to Düsseldorf on 11 July until 1 August when I have three weeks vacation. Dave sold the organ in Beaverton, which I will install with Glenn. This is in a church very similar to All Saints, Watsonville, behind a wood screen behind the altar with choir on floor level.
Glenn will probably buy his Dad’s [sheet metal shop] building for our workshop in [the Fremont neighborhood of] Seattle: 2,000 square feet and part with 18 foot ceiling.
Concert this evening.
