Kitchen painted with two coats — ready for the cabinets. We got notice that the garage door will not be available for ten days more: the installers are just too busy with other work.
Eli started to install the glass tile on the walls of the shower and bathroom, but the new saw blade that he bought in Albuquerque is not round, and chips the tiles badly. We tried the blade in two different tile saws. That puts a damper on our bath work for a day or so until another new blade arrives.
The plumber delivered the water softener, but it is not installed, so we don’t have running water in the house yet. I fastened the utility sink to the wall, but I’m not really happy with my installation yet.
Tomorrow may be entirely devoted to painting, as we can't continue installing tile without a better saw blade and the painting must be finished before we can install the electric or plumbing fixtures or flooring. Well, not quite. We could install the slate tile in the north portal, as the old tile saw blade works fine — just not for glass tile, which chips easily.
Most of what I did consisted of painting or lightly sanding the prime coat in preparation for painting. A light sanding with fine grit (just wipe over the walls) will remove any specks that may have come with the paint, from the roller cover, or blown in as dust. We wipe down the walls with a damp sponge and mop the floors before painting in an attempt to quell any dust, but it is not entirely effective.
