I didn’t work today. Well, at least not after 9:30. I did get up and start cleaning up chunks and bits of concrete plaster left from stuccoing the house. Also brought the hollow core doors from the garage so they could be installed today. Thank you Jake.
Eli climbed onto the roof and applied joint compound to the walls of the mechanical room. My task now is to prevent him making the walls there so smooth. I need his expertise in more public areas of the house!
Did I mention that I got the detailed drawings of the kitchen cabinets, which allows me to pay the first half so they can start building them. They also wanted the refrigerator dimensions, which meant I had to order one. It is interesting that range and dishwasher dimensions are quite standard, but refrigerators vary all over the place. Think what our society could save by standardizing refrigerator dimensions!
I did drive to Santa Fe with a friend who is preparing for cataract surgery in two weeks. I took this opportunity to shop at Trader Joe’s and stock up on frozen gyoza (won tons, effectively ravioli, pot stickers, call them what you will). They also have some frozen tiny boreal blueberries from northern Quebec. I use the blueberries in my breakfast when I forget to buy bananas. I take our ice chest and blue ice to keep the frozen foods cold. Works great.
Oh, in the evening was a symposium (it was not called that) on grieving, lead by a man who has had a lot to grieve. So my day went from 5am to 8pm, with time out to eat, and no siesta.
