What is the Mystery?

What is the Mystery?

Every once in a while I have writer’s block, not knowing what topic to study next. When that happens, I just say, “Show me Father”, turn blindly to whatever page in the Scriptures and point. When I open my eyes and look at the verse, I develop a study around it. Sometimes it is not the central verse of whichever topic but it is within the context. This study is the result of one such writer’s block and I feel there is something in it that Yahuwah wanted me to get out to my readership.

Rom. 16:25 - Now to him that is of power to establish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of HaMashiyack Yahushua, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

26 - But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting Elohim, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

27 - To Elohim only wise, be glory through HaMashiyack Yahushua forever. Amen.

Authorship

One thing I would like to mention before getting into the main study is that the very first verse of the Book of Romans declares that Paul was the author of this epistle. Yet in verse 22 of chapter 16 it appears as if there is a challenger to that claim. Therefore, I just had to investigate.

Rom. 16:22 - I Tertius, who wrote this epistle, salute you in the Master.

As it turns out Paul was indeed the author. This Tertius was merely Paul’s scribe.

Commentary Critical and Explanatory on the Whole Bible

22. I, Tertius, who wrote this--"the"

epistle--as the apostle's amanuensis, or penman.

salute you in the Lord--So usually did the apostle dictate his epistles, that he calls the attention of the Galatians to the fact that to them he wrote with his own hand ( Galatians 6:11 ). But this Tertius would have the Romans to know that, far from being a mere scribe, his heart went out to them in Christian affection; and the apostle, by giving his salutation a place here, would show what sort of assistants he employed.

Now that that is clarified let’s move on.

The Mystery

So what is this great secret that Paul is talking about here? If traditional Christianity is any gauge, it is still a mystery. Most people would likely answer “The gospel of Yahushua HaMashiyack” or “Jesus Christ” for the yet pagan Christians. While that is the right (programmed) answer, the question remains, “How many truly understand what that means?” Also, was there more than one mystery cleared up at the Messiah’s coming? From the way the world is acting, I would say not too many are aware of any of the mysteries of Yahuwah.

Our purpose is revealed in the very first chapter of the Scriptures.

Gen. 1:26 - And Elohim said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.

27 - So Elohim created man in his own image, in the image of Elohim created he him; male and female created he them.

28 - And Elohim blessed them, and Elohim said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.

Can there be any doubt that those creatures that were fashioned after the cattle kind grew up to be cattle? These verses do not say that we were created after the man kind but the Elohim kind. This is the secret that our adversary has managed to keep hidden from mankind. This is one of the many mysteries that Yahushua HaMashiyack revealed to us when he was manifested on the earth. If, indeed, man was formed after the man kind that would be all there was to his existence, with no hope of any afterlife. Man was created after the elohim kind. Therefore, we are to become elohim.

Now, that is a little harder than becoming cattle since it is a two part phenomenon. In another article, “Remaining Caterpillars” I compared this metamorphosis to that of the caterpillar to butterfly. In it I compared death to the cocoon. We start off made of flesh and blood, limited like caterpillars. We die (become cocoons) and are resurrected as an entirely new creature (butterfly). In our new bodies, we will not be limited as when we were human but free as butterflies – only freer. We will be powerful spiritual beings with the benefit of eternal life. We will be in all ways like the Father – save that He alone has always existed and it was He who created us.

One of the other mysteries that Yahushua cleared up when he came is who he was and what his role in the universe has always been. A complete study on this topic is available in my article “Who was Yahushua”. Basically, he is the only begotten son just as any only child. But wait, are we not all sons of Elohim? Yes we are – as grandchildren, but Yahushua was the only creature produced directly by the Father. The rest of creation was created by the Son.

John declares this at the beginning of his gospel. The term “only begotten” implies procreation by any dictionary standard. However, the Trinitarians have everyone believing otherwise. The fact that the Son was the first to be created, making him a product of the creation, throws a real monkey wrench into their utterly pagan doctrines concerning him.

Another mystery is that the Son did not attain eternal life until he was resurrected from the dead. Eternal life is only available to those born of the new creation. Yahushua was the first of all creation to attain that status – “the firstborn of every creature” (Col. 1:15). One cannot be the firstborn of every creature without being a creature. It is absolutely ludicrous to think otherwise.

Another common misconception is that the angels presently possess eternal life. Remember that it was the fallen angels who first rebelled against Yahuwah and they taught men to do likewise. The secret to attaining eternal life for any of the creatures created in the Father’s likeness is that they must be INCORRUPTIBLE! These angels were obviously yet corruptible; and, since men are to judge angels, they cannot yet have eternal life. What they have is continuation of life. That is, they are yet dependent on the Father for their existence but they can exist indefinitely as per the Father’s discretion. Eternal life is the power of inherent life, where we ourselves are a source of life, with the ability to create life. We will never die nor will anyone have the power to kill us.

The next mystery is the mystery of mankind.

Heb. 2:5 - For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.

6 - But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that you art mindful of him? or the son of man, that you visit him?

7 - You made him a little lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honour, and did set him over the works of your hands:

8 - You hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.

9 - But we see Yahushua, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of Elohim should taste death for every man.

At the moment we are under subjection to the angels. However, in the next world the angels will be under subjection to us. We will judge the angels. Perhaps it is punishment for the angelic rebellion? Perhaps that was the way it was intended from the beginning? I am sure we will know someday.

The next question is “What is man that you are mindful of him?” Like HaMashiyack, we were made a little lower than the angels to be crowned with glory and honour. What do we have to do to receive this coveted crown?

Heb. 1:9 - You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore Elohim, even your Elohim, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.

We must be like our example, Yahushua, loving righteousness (obedience to the Law) and hating iniquity (disobedience to the Law). Righteousness must become our very nature. There will be no feigning it.

Yahuwah put all things under Yahushua’s feet. Where have we heard that before?

Gen. 1:26 - And Elohim said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.

Before Adam’s sin, all things were put under man’s feet. Yahushua demonstrated by his example, what it was that man was supposed to do with that authority. Because he abused that authority, mankind lost it. Under the new creation, that authority will be returned to those who qualify for the Kingdom. Do not believe the Christian fairy tale that grace equals disregard for the Law. Follow in the Master’s footsteps. That is one of the reasons why he came, to leave a trail for us to follow.

For the suffering of death, Yahushua received the crown of glory and honour. His unique position in the universe is that he was the first and only being created in the likeness of the Father by the Father. He is the only being to have the Father’s creative power bestowed upon him prior to actually attaining eternal life. I believe this was because he enjoyed the privilege of existing one on one with the Father for an indeterminate amount of time before the rest of the creation came into being. But that is only a theory.

Yahushua was obedient to the Father at all times. He qualified himself as the perfect sacrifice (out of all of creation) to cover sin. He willingly gave his life for the rest of creation. He was the firstborn into the new creation and awaits patiently the glorification of the sons of Elohim. His glory will always outshine ours, but we will be like him; possessing true eternal life and having the power to create life and ultimately bring life to the entire universe. We will not be idle in the Kingdom. We were created for a purpose.

The mystery of heaven is another one that Yahushua clarified during his earthly manifestation. We do not pass from earth to heaven at death but wait patiently in the grave until the resurrection (as was Yahushua’s example).

Matt. 13:10 - And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speak you unto them in parables?

11 - He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

The Mysteries of the Kingdom were not revealed to all, but only the chosen few who really believed upon the Messiah. Even the Jews of Yahushua’s time were not learned in these mysteries. The prophets of old would have given anything to see what was revealed to the apostles.

Matt. 13:17 - For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which you see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which you hear, and have not heard them.

So how can the Kingdom be described?

Matt. 13:24 - Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:

25 - But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

The path to heaven is elusive and the enemy will try to throw tares in our path to deter us. One needs to be a dedicated truth seeker to recognize a tare, which is very similar in appearance to a true stock of wheat. It is the very same with the deceptions of HaSatan. His lies are very close to the truth and, like counterfeit money, take some degree of expertise to recognize the difference. This expertise comes from hard work and study. Sabbath day only believers who depend on a church leader to do all the studying for them and set his doctrine in stone for them are doomed for disappointment when the judgement day comes. BELIEVE NO MAN! That is the first and simplest way to approach your understanding of the Scriptures. SEARCH AND PROVE ALL THINGS FOR YOURSELF! That is the second rule.

31 - Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:

32 - Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.

The mustard seed is the smallest and most humble of seeds. Such is the nature that Yahuwah seeks in humanity. It is the contrite and humble of spirit whom Yahuwah wants. For Yahuwah knows that such, when fully awakened, will become the greatest in his Kingdom. Therefore, do not be haughty or self-righteous. Those attributes destroy all chances of gaining the Kingdom.

33 - Another parable spoke he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

Leaven normally represents sin; however, in this case it represents the knowledge of Yahuwah. The true followers of Yah may not be geniuses by worldly standards (Yahuwah knows I’m not) but we outshine the rest of the world with our knowledge of Yahuwah and the Kingdom. This is not information anyone can learn by cracking open a book. One has to be called by Yahuwah and have their eyes, ears minds and hearts opened to receive His instruction and gain His knowledge

37 - He answered and said unto them, He that sows the good seed is the Son of man;

38 - The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

39 - The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.

40 - As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

41 - The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

42 - And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

43 - Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

The term “end of the world” which was supposedly translated from the Greek, should have been translated “end of the age”. The word here interpreted as “world” is the Greek word “aion” which means age, not world. This age ends tomorrow – December 21st 2012 as the age of Aquarius begins.

These verses explain the parables. All suggest that entry to the Kingdom is limited to those Yahuwah has claimed as his own. I have seen some of my relatives and former friends, who I know to have been incorrigibly sinful, preached directly into heaven by a deceived minister immediately upon death. No time even for purgatory – just a few words and a wave of the hand and presto, they are in heaven with our Master. What a slap in the face that must be to Yahushua. After all he went through to attain perfection so that he could become the perfect sacrifice for our sin; and here these individuals are supposedly being preached into heaven without making any effort toward perfection.

Yahuwah is going to send His angels in the real “last day” to harvest the souls of those who followed after him. EVERYTHING ELSE is going to be destroyed in the refining fire. Only that which is INCORRUPTIBLE will make it into the Kingdom. Therefore, we must make ourselves incorruptible by taking on the Law of Yahuwah and incorporating it into our very nature. No one has yet gone to heaven save our Master and Saviour, Yahushua HaMashiyack. All are awaiting the resurrection to judgement. All will be judged. The tares will be separated from the wheat and destroyed. The wheat will go on to eternal glory in the Kingdom.

Another part of the mystery of heaven is that Yahuwah intends to dwell with man on the earth. The scriptures repeatedly mention our main purpose is seeking the Kingdom. Only at the end of the Book of Revelation is it revealed that that Kingdom is going to be here on Earth. That’s right! We are not going to heaven; heaven is coming to us. Yahuwah is coming to dwell with us at the end of the millennial rule of Yahushua.

Rev. 21:1 - And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

22 - And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from Elohim out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

23 - And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of Elohim is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and Elohim himself shall be with them, and be their Elohim.

24 - And Elohim shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Everything that is corruptible (physical) will pass away. That stage of the creation was always meant to be only temporary. The only dimension that is eternal is the spiritual one. The physical has to be peeled away to reveal the spiritual.

Conclusion

We have no idea how many more mysteries there are that Yahuwah will eventually reveal to us. Much knowledge has been withheld from us for our own good. Mankind is of the wrong mindset to be trusted with it. He would only abuse the knowledge for personal gain. Sadly, that is the nature of man.

I usually assume that most reading these articles are fellow truth seekers and to us the power of discernment has been given. This is something that eludes this world’s wisest of men. We are privileged indeed.

What we all need is to have the same degree of confidence in ourselves as the Father does. He has obviously seen promise in us all and all we have to do is follow His instructions to the letter, as did our eldest brother, Yahushua. To do that we must understand His instruction, which becomes much more clear once we understand the mysteries that are pertinent to our understanding.

This article was never intended to be anything more than an outline. I can see now that there is much that I can add. However, I believe I will do separate studies on each of these four mysteries and present them at a future date. In the mean time I invite all to do your own studies on these mysteries and share them with me.

Yahuwah Bless
