What Happens When We Die?

The harder science tries to prove that there is no God (Elohim) the more proof is discovered that there is indeed a Supreme Intelligence behind creation.

Scientists have been trying for decades; even centuries, to find out what it is that gives humans their superior intellect. Physically speaking there is no discernible difference between a human brain and any other physical creature. Some animal brains are smaller, some are larger. Otherwise the physical makeup of the brain is identical.

The truth lies in statements made in the opening chapters of the Book of Genesis.

Gen. 1:20 - And Elohim said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

21- And Elohim created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and Elohim saw that it was good.

Two things to note here are that all marine life and creatures capable of flight came from water. They were produced after their own kind, implying that their kind previously existed at some remote point in time.

24 - And Elohim said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

25 - And Elohim made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps upon the earth after his kind: and Elohim saw that it was good.

Here we find out that all land creatures were produced from the earth (dust of the ground). Of them, it is also said that they were produced after their own kind, again implying that their kind previously existed.

26 - And Elohim said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.

27 - So Elohim created man in his own image, in the image of Elohim created he him; male and female created he them.

Only man was not created after his own kind or after a previous life form known as man, otherwise it should read that man was created after the man kind. Man was created after the Elohim kind (also a previously existing life form). Although man was formed from the dust of the ground, it was not the earth that gave him life. It was the spirit of Elohim, which is eternal.

Gen. 2:7 - And Yahuwah Elohim formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

After forming man from the dust of the earth, Elohim had to breathe His spirit into man to give him life. Just as the physical body returns to its original state (dust) following death, so does the spirit in man (the source of his life) return to its source – which is Elohim. Our physical bodies were formed from the dust and returns to the dust, but since it was not the earth that gave us life, we have a distinction between physical and spirit. Since the spirit comes from Elohim, that spirit is eternal; therefore, when our bodies die the spirit lives on and returns to its source, Elohim.

Do not be confused by the term, “soul”. A soul is not something we possess. It is something we are. A soul is merely any living physical creature.

The Hebraic Roots Bible (online version), which one of my fellow students turned me onto, has this to say concerning the soul (footnotes, page 10):

2 Man “became” a living soul, he does not

“possess” a soul. A soul can die and is not

immortal as the soul that sins it will die, Eze

18:4, Ro 6:23. Please see lesson 17 on the

immortal soul in the bible on line course at

(I haven’t had a chance to read this article at the time of this writing, but will, soon.)

Of all the living souls (physical beings), only man “possesses” the eternal living spirit of Yahuwah. That spirit does not die when our physical bodies die. It is eternal; therefore, it cannot die. It returns to the same spirit that permeates the entire universe – the spirit of life (Yahuwah). Without Yahuwah’s spirit, absolutely no physical or angelic life would be possible. We exist purely because of the desire of the Father. We have absolutely no control over anything. That will all change once we become eternal living spirits. Then we will possess the power of self-existence – and will be a life force and source of life ourselves. Eventually, we may even possess the power to create our own universe and all life in it.

While I am at it, I might as well touch a little bit more on angels. They may be immortal, but they do not possess eternal life – else there would be no need (in the future) for men to judge angels. Eternal life is conditional on righteousness and incorruptibility. As HaSatan and his followers proved, angels are yet corruptible, therefore they cannot possess eternal life.

This is where science is confused. The reason for their confusion is that they cannot find any physical evidence for the spirit in man; therefore, they deduce that the spirit does not exist. Yet, recent studies into near death, out of body experiences seem to prove that we have consciousness following death – where both the heart and all brain activity have ceased. In cases where the person actually stayed dead, apparitions have been photographed leaving the body; and the body weight drops some.

The following article appeared today in The National Post, Canada. It was a re-print of a London Telegraph article. It is reports the conclusions of the largest study done on near death and out of body experiences done so far.

I will insert my comments within the article to save you from having to scroll back and forth to see what I am talking about.

Largest study into near-death experiences discovers awareness may continue even after the brain shuts down

The Telegraph | October 7, 2014 10:58 AM ET

LONDON — There may be a small amount of life after death, scientists believe.

A small amount? I laughed at that one. But then, it is a “big boy” step for the scientists to admit to any form of life after death. At least it is a step in the right direction.

The largest ever medical study into near-death and out-of-body experiences has discovered that awareness may continue even after the brain has shut down completely.

It is a controversial theory which has, until recently, been treated with widespread skepticism.

Scientists at the University of Southampton spent four years examining more than 2,000 people who suffered cardiac arrests at 15 hospitals in the U.K., U.S. and Austria.

They found that nearly 40% of those who survived described some kind of “awareness” during the time when they were clinically dead before their hearts were restarted.

Two thousand people are an impressive sample. I had no idea that many people had near death experiences. And the fact that 40% of them could recall their out of body experiences is especially impressive. Remember that this is only a sampling of several countries. How many more people is there that have had such an experience? It almost makes me wish that I could have one, just to experience it. Lol.

One man even recalled leaving his body entirely and watching his resuscitation from the corner of the room.

Despite being unconscious and “dead” for three minutes the 57-year-old social worker from Southampton, recounted the actions of the nursing staff in detail and described the sound of the machines.

Most people that report experiencing such a phenomenon recall pretty much the same thing. We definitely have more than two witnesses. Does it matter whether we are a true Believer, a Christian, A Muslim or Buddhist? Not at all! All possess the same eternal living spirit – from the lowliest bushman to the Queen of England.

In this case conscious awareness appears to have continued for up to three minutes into the period when the heart wasn’t beating

“We know the brain can’t function when the heart has stopped beating,” said Dr. Sam Parnia, a former Southampton University research fellow now based at the State University of New York, who led the study.

“But in this case conscious awareness appears to have continued for up to three minutes into the period when the heart wasn’t beating, even though the brain typically shuts down within 20-30 seconds after the heart has stopped.

“The man described everything that had happened in the room, but importantly, he heard two bleeps from a machine that makes a noise at three-minute intervals.

“So we could time how long the experienced lasted for.

“He seemed very credible and everything that he said had happened to him had actually happened.”

Of 2,060 cardiac arrest patients studied, 330 survived and 140 said they had experienced some kind of awareness while being resuscitated.

Although many could not recall specific details, some themes emerged.

One in five said they had felt an unusual sense of peacefulness while nearly one third said time had slowed down or speeded up.

We will definitely feel peace when freed of our physical bodies. We will likely feel better than we ever have in our entire lives.

Earthly time no longer exists outside of this planet’s atmosphere; therefore, it might be understandable that these people sense a slowing down or speeding up of time as, if they were to continue in death, time would no longer be relative to them.

A higher proportion of people may have vivid death experiences, but do not recall them due to the effects of brain injury or sedative drugs on memory circuits

Some recalled seeing a bright light; a golden flash or the sun shining.

We have all likely heard of such people seeing a great light at the end of a tunnel, beckoning to them to come into the light. Can it be delusion, hallucination or just plain nuts? None of the above! Once freed of our physical bodies, one can expect to be greeted by the by the spirit of life as we return to it. And, that spirit of life may be very bright indeed.

Others recounted feelings of fear or drowning or being dragged through deep water. In addition 13 per cent had felt separated from their bodies and the same number said their senses had been heightened.

This was a new one for me. I wonder about the stark contrast and ponder that perhaps those who have a pleasant experience may be in need a boost of hope, and those that have negative experiences may need a boost of fear to go back and turn their lives around.

Dr. Parnia believes many more people may have experiences when they are close to death but drugs or sedatives used in the process of resuscitation may stop them remembering.

“Estimates have suggested that millions of people have had vivid experiences in relation to death but the scientific evidence has been ambiguous at best.

If a person can recall every word and action of the resuscitation crew, what other evidence do they need? The person was graveyard dead. Both their heart and brain had stopped functioning. This type of phenomenon (out of body) is scientifically impossible. And yet, as this study proves, it is quite real.

“Many people have assumed that these were hallucinations or illusions but they do seem to correspond to actual events.

“And a higher proportion of people may have vivid death experiences, but do not recall them due to the effects of brain injury or sedative drugs on memory circuits.

“These experiences warrant further investigation.”

Dr. David Wilde, a research psychologist at Nottingham Trent University, is compiling data about out-of-body experiences in an attempt to discover a pattern which links each episode. He hopes the latest research will encourage new studies into the controversial topic.

I would like to keep abreast of Dr. Wilde’s research and see what comes of it.

Most studies look retrospectively, 10 or 20 years ago, but the researchers went out looking for examples and used a really large sample size, so this gives the work a lot of validity.

“There is some very good evidence here that these experiences are actually happening after people have medically died,” Dr. Wilde said.

“We just don’t know what is going on. We are still very much in the dark about what happens when you die and hopefully this study will help shine a scientific lens onto that.”

I expect that most scientists will balk at this study. After pushing their “no god” doctrines for so long, along with the ridiculous theory of evolution, their pride will likely take precedence and they will ridicule this study. After all, their research involves only things that are physically measurable. The spiritual parallel creation is invisible to every one of our five senses. Therefore, the scientists do not know how to deal with or study it. Therefore, they will inevitably deny it.

The study was published in the journal Resuscitation.

Dr. Jerry Nolan, editor-in-chief at Resuscitation, said: “Dr. Parnia and his colleagues are to be congratulated on the completion of a fascinating study that will open the door to more extensive research into what happens when we die.”

The following site presents seventeen stories of near death experiences. Some sound a little difficult to believe; but who knows?

Conclusion

There was a time when I did not believe in any god. I believed the scientists. After all, they are supposed to amongst the world’s most intelligent people – are they not?

It was not until Yahuwah called me out of Babylon that I began to see the reality of the spiritual universe. I can claim no responsibility because if Yahuwah had not opened my mind to His truth, I would still be just as blind as the rest of the world.

Out of body experiences are commonly attached to certain types of meditation such as transcendental meditation. A cousin of mine (now deceased) contracted MS at the age of 18. He got into transcendental meditation to help him cope with this disease. He was able to recall most of his out of body experiences and some of them were quite interesting. He not only transcended his body but the room he was in also and tripped around all over the place. He told of meeting both good and evil spirit beings. I don’t understand how he was able to tell the difference, but he said he could, and he would avoid the evil ones.

Another kind of near death experience involves the religious practices of the North American Indians. They fast for three days (no food or water) and see visions on the fourth day. Since man can supposedly only go three days without water, this also, is a near death experience. They claim that these visions reveal to them what their purpose in life is to be.

Transcendental meditation, of course, came to the West from India, through Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, in the mid 1950s. Meditation is a big part of the Buddhist religion. Yet, we have read of numerous accounts in the Scriptures of the prophets of old being in a state of meditation when they saw their visions of the future; and, some of their visions definitely sound like they were having an out of body experience. Perhaps the most detailed vision is that of the Apostle John in regards to the Book of Revelation.

Rev. 1:10 - I came to be in the Spirit on the day of YAHWEH,

What exactly did John mean by the statement, “came to be in the spirit”? Could such meditation be the key to transcending the physical to spiritual awareness? We know that meditation and prayer appear to go together according to the Old Testament. Was such meditation essential to John’s spiritual growth? Did it help him to become “one with the Father”? One can only guess, of course, but is it possible that real meditation and establishing such a spiritual connection has become a lost art form to today’s class of Believers? Should it be something we need to work at to restore? Have some of you reading this ever had such an experience while mediating? Do you even meditate?

The following verses speak of the subject: Gen. 24:63; Jos. 1:8; Ps 1:2; 63:6; 77:12; 119:15, 23, 48, 78, 148; 143:5; Isa. 33:18; Lk. 21:14; and 1 Ti 4:15. They mostly speak of meditating on Yahuwah’s law. Yahuwah’s law is righteous and knowing and practicing it leads to a righteous state of mind. If our intent is to grow closer to Yahuwah through meditation, can it really have any bad or evil consequences? Or does it aid us in growing into the spiritual beings we were intended to be?

These are question I have no answers to yet. I need to investigate the subject a lot more before drawing any real conclusions.

While I was in my former church, the Worldwide Church of God, we were taught that transcendental meditation was demonic. But then, like I have said in other articles, the tendency of all man-made religions is to draw people further from Yahuwah, not closer.

One woman in the WCG where I attended, that had the gift of healing, was put out of the church because she practiced healing outside the clique of the clergy. Some members branded her a witch. Looking back years later, I saw this as the clergy denying the gift of the spirit in anyone but themselves. Such a philosophy certainly stems from man’s desire to worship a man in place of Yahuwah.

One Minister, from the same church, told me (after I told him I was leaving) that I was not qualified to interpret scripture because I had not graduated Ambassador College. Maybe that was a good thing, else I would have been as brainwashed as the minister was.

I had a number of reasons for becoming disillusioned with the WCG but mainly it was over the “God Is” booklet they put out sometime around 1991-2. I could clearly see in that book that the headquarters of that church were trying very subtly to manipulate us away from our thinking of the Father as the only Elohim towards embracing the Trinity theory. I brought this up to our local minister and his answer to me was, “I don’t understand it either, but that’s what they want me to preach and that is what I am going to preach”. His confession blew my mind. He basically confessed that he was merely a preacher for hire and that he would preach whatever they paid him to preach. I didn’t particularly have a great deal of respect for this minister in the first place, but all respect for him fled from me on that day.

But what if meditating on the laws of Yahuwah is the key to becoming one with Him? Will it lead to the deep kind of meditation that the Apostle John experienced? These are the questions I would like to find answers for. My hope is that it will help me/us to gain a greater degree of that oneness with Yahuwah that Yahushua enjoyed.

I am sure that we have learned a lot of misinformation over the years and have accepted the reports without really checking it out, simply because it came from a man that we respect. Personally, I like to know the why’s and wherefore’s of almost everything; and, that is what I plan find out about this information. I will follow it up with a report sometime in the future.

In the meantime, I would appreciate hearing your thoughts and any information you might have (positive or negative) on the subject.

Yahuwah Bless

G.P.
