I am sure that we are all delighted when science discovers new evidence that supports what the Bible says. It makes me sick when individuals who have likely never even read the Scriptures for themselves, pooh-pooh it as a book of fables. Scientists, themselves, have long done so. Yet, archaeology has made many finds that support the biblical report, rather than deny it. One such topic of hot debate is that a race of giants once roamed the earth.
Gen. 6:4 - There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of Elohim came in unto the daughters of men, and they bore children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
5 - And Elohim saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6 - And it repented Yahuwah that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
7 - And Yahuwah said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repents me that I have made them.
According to the Scriptures, these giants were the result of the fallen angels mating with the women of earth. The real mystery is how these angels were even capable of mating with the women of earth. I never would have thought of angels as being capable, much less consenting, to mate with humans. However, we must not overlook how extremely intelligent these fallen angels were. They may very well have had the knowledge of DNA and cloning. In that case, we can assume that they were able to create life without the use of sexual intercourse.
This is just a theory, of course. None of us knows for sure how these giants were created or procreated.
Aside from the Scriptures, we have some rather sketchy and incomplete, writings from the Book of Giants, supposedly written by Enoch. Enoch claimed that some of these giants were 3,000 ells tall.
The following are the different translations of ells into feet (pre-1963 Canadian).
Dutch – 2.12 feet
English – 3.52 feet
Scottish – 2.90 feet
German - 1.85 feet
Vienna – 2.40 feet
If we use the average of all these different equivalents, 2.59 feet, to determine the size of these giants, it would equal 7,674 feet or 1.55 miles. This seems to me to be a bit more than a stretch of the imagination; but to give Enoch the benefit of the doubt; perhaps an ell had a totally different meaning in his day.
There have actually been numerous archaeological sites where literally thousands of skeletal remains of giants have been found from all over the world. Their sizes range between 7 ft. and 36ft. There were actually two skeletons found at the same site measuring 36 ft. A number of the other sites had numerous skeletons of various sizes from 7 – 12 ft. in height.

So it was not merely a few giants but a whole race of giants that inhabited the earth before the flood. And the fact that their remains have been found all over the earth lends credence to the believe that the North/South American continents were joined to the European/ African continents as recently as just before the flood. Since there have been no discovery of giant ships anywhere (that I have found) one is left to assume that these giants did not travel in such a manner. There was definitely more that went on during the Noahide Flood than the Earth being covered in water.
If one takes the Book of Giants seriously the human race was actually in danger of being wiped out by the giants. That is why Yahuwah had to step in, to save the human race from extinction.
And yet, our scientists (presumably the smartest people on Earth) continue to deny the existence of giants. On the sites I visited to collect this information, I also read some of the comments from other readers. Most were so much in denial; they would not believe the evidence in front of their eyes. Some may well have been faked, but in the cases where lowly peasants found the remains that had neither the intelligence nor the resources to fake such a find, the evidence is real.

The one thing that has always puzzled me is how there came to be giants on the earth following the flood. The fallen angels were safely tucked away in the abyss. They could no longer fornicate with the women of Earth. All other life was wiped out by the flood.
These are some possible explanations:
1 - Sons and wives of Noah carried the genes.
2 – Not all were killed in the flood.
3 – Other angels fell after the flood.
To be sure, there are even giants on the earth today – except not quite so large.

Some of the tallest men in recent recorded history were 7.5 – almost 9 ft. in height.
Strangely enough, even some of the Bible commentaries are skeptical of the scriptural references to giants.
Anak
Num. 13:22 - And they ascended by the south, and came unto Hebron; where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)
Num. 13:28 - Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.
Num. 13:31 - But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.
32 - And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eats up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.
33 - And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

32. a land that eateth up the inhabitants--that is, an unhealthy climate and country. Jewish writers say that in the course of their travels they saw a great many funerals, vast numbers of the Canaanites being cut off at that time, in the providence of God, by a plague or the hornet ( Joshua 24:12 ).
men of a great stature--This was evidently a false and exaggerated report, representing, from timidity or malicious artifice, what was true of a few as descriptive of the people generally.
33. there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak--The name is derived from the son of Arba, a great man among the Arabians ( Joshua 15:14 ), who probably obtained his appellation from wearing a splendid collar or chain round his neck, as the word imports. The epithet "giant" evidently refers here to stature. probable the Anakims were a distinguished family, or perhaps a select body of warriors, chosen for their extraordinary size.
we were in our own sight as grasshoppers--a strong Orientalism, by which the treacherous spies gave an exaggerated report of the physical strength of the people of Canaan.
I believe the spies’ report was true enough; but that it was their faith in Yahuwah that was wavering. Had they forgotten already that it was by Yahuwah’s strength that they had escaped Egypt and conquered the Egyptian army? Did they not have faith that Yahuwah would win this victory for them also? It does not matter how fearful an opponent is. If Yahuwah is on our side, no obstacle is too big or too strong.
Here are some other verses in regard to “Anak”:
Deut. 9:2 - A people great and tall, the children of the Anakims, whom thou knows, and of whom thou hast heard say, Who can stand before the children of Anak!
Jos. 15:13 - And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of Yahuwah to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.
Jos. 15:14 - And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.
Jos. 21:11 - And they gave them the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron, in the hill country of Judah, with the suburbs thereof round about it.
Jud. 1:20 - And they gave Hebron unto Caleb, as Moses said: and he expelled thence the three sons of Anak.
Anakims
Deut, 1:28 - Whither shall we go up? our brethren have discouraged our heart, saying, The people is greater and taller than we; the cities are great and walled up to heaven; and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakims there.
2:10 - The Emims dwelt therein in times past, a people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims;
2:11 - Which also were accounted giants, as the Anakims; but the Moabites call them Emims.
2:21 - A people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims; but Yahuwah destroyed them before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead:
9:2 - A people great and tall, the children of the Anakims, whom thou know, and of whom thou hast heard say, Who can stand before the children of Anak!
Jos. 11:21 - And at that time came Joshua, and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities.
11:22 - There was none of the Anakims left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained.
14:12 - Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof Yahuwah spoke in that day; for thou heard in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be Yahuwah will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as Yahuwah said.
14:15 - And the name of Hebron before was Kirjatharba; which Arba was a great man among the Anakims. And the land had rest from war.
It would seem, from putting all these verses together that this race of giants were not limited to one small geographical area, but were spread out all across the Promised Land. The Israelite spies certainly did not lie nor exaggerate concerning their stature. Therefore I suspect that the commentary above is in error in its assessment.
Conclusion
Prior to delving into this study, I had never imagined that such giants were so numerous. I mean, if the remains so far found number in the thousands, how many of them really existed? Therefore, it remains entirely possible that they numbered in the millions. No wonder Yahuwah saw the need to wipe them out – if, indeed they were all Nephilim!
Several years ago I was introduced to the studies of a Christian Scientist, Kent Hovind, who also went by the name, “Dr. Dino”. Even though he is presently serving a 10 year sentence for tax evasion, he presented some fascinating videos. In one of these videos, Hovind put forth the theory that before the flood, the earth produced a much greater degree of oxygen. He maintained that because of this factor, humans grew bigger and lived much longer and healthier lives. This also explained the gargantuan sizes of the dinosaurs, since reptiles never stop growing as long as they are alive. Therefore, if they lived 10 times longer, it is perfectly natural that they grew ten times larger.

Kent Hovind (a.k.a. “Dr. Dino”) is a well-known young-Earth creationist speaker. He is in federal prison, having served two years of a ten-year federal conviction for tax evasion. His reasoning for not paying taxes was that it was all God’s money, not his, and was therefore non-taxable. He paid his employees with cash, and then said they weren’t really employees, but that they were servants of God.
If true, Hovind’s theory makes a lot of sense. It may also be true that not all of the skeletal remains found were the result of angels copulating with humans. The majority of the skeletons found ranged from 7-9 feet. Perhaps these had gained their stature naturally. Perhaps only the much larger remains are those of the Nephilim.
So many questions; so few answers! Hopefully, we will have the answers someday, but for now all we can do is speculate. All we can know right now is that giants, in ancient times, were numerous upon the earth. They would have been significantly stronger than humans and may be the answer to some of the mysterious structures of old uncovered by archaeologists (pyramids, statues on Easter Island, etc.).
