Everyone Breaks

Everyone Breaks

The title of this article is a popular statement of institutions such as police and military (inquisitors). What it means is that when enough pressure (torture) is applied, everyone breaks to the will of the inquisitor. That statement is inherently false. Not everyone breaks. The true prophets of Elohim never broke – they just prophesied all the more (e.g. Stephan). Yahushua never broke. He knew that the main reason He came to earth was to die. Up until the moment of His conviction, the Jewish elders could not find the required two or more witnesses to accuse Yahushua. The only time that Yahushua spoke in His defense was to openly condemn himself, even though His statement was 100% true – He was the Son of Elohim, the promised Messiah.

1 Kings 18:1 - After a long time, in the third year of the drought, the word of Yahuwah came to Eliyah: “Go and present yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain upon the face of the earth.”

King Ahab had the worst reputation of any in the line of Israelite kings. And his Queen, Jezebel, had the worst reputation of any Israelite Queen. Both were baptized in pagan demon worship. Jonathan Cahn compares them to Bill and Hillary Clinton, and his claims are difficult to refute. (I find that Jonathan brings up plenty of interesting points, even though he openly worships Baal – mixing the corrupted names with the biblically sacred as if there is no difference). The scriptures tell us we are not even to mention these corrupted names. They are the names of the enemies of Yahuwah, and when we utter them, we are basically telling Elohim that we worship them also. It cannot and does not work that way. The path to salvation is narrow and does not compromise. It is strictly Yahuwah’s way or the highway. We cannot make up our own rules and expect Yahuwah to honor them. We cannot serve two masters. Etc., etc.

1 Kings 18:16 - So, Obadiah went to inform Ahab, who went to meet Eliyah.

17 - When Ahab saw Eliyah, he said to him, “Is that you, O troubler of Israel?”

18 - “I have not troubled Israel,” Eliyah replied, “but you and your father’s house have, for you have forsaken the commandments of Yahuwah and have followed the Baals.

19 - Now summon all Israel to meet me on Mount Carmel, along with the four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal and the four hundred prophets of Asherah who eat at Jezebel’s table.”

20 - So Ahab summoned all the Israelites and assembled the prophets on Mount Carmel.

21 - Then Eliyah approached all the people and said, “How long will you waver between two opinions? If Yahuwah is Elohim, follow Him. But if Baal is Elohim, follow him.”

Verse 18 could easily serve to describe Christianity also. Christianity has completely done away with the commandments of Yahuwah and obey only the laws of men. And the real god they worship (through Constantine) is Baal. This pagan deity has been at the center of all pagan worship since the days of King Nimrod. When Yahuwah confused the languages, this deity took on different names, yet it remains the exact same god and is still worshipped by all earthbound religions on the planet today.

How could Israel have fallen so far? How could any nation with a history of such personal interaction with Yahuwah, ever return to its former vomit? How could an entire nation support such a pair, much less obey them? There is something very, very wrong with mankind. How can so many be so deceived? It is called politics, people. Let us not forget that when HaSatan is again imprisoned for 1,000 years and again released, that a very large multitude is going to again flock to serve him. Until man’s nature is changed, HaSatan retains his rule over us.

Ahab accuses Elijah of being the troubler of Israel and Elijah throws the accusation right back in Ahab’s face. Then Elijah throws down a challenge to Ahaz to prove who’s elohim reigned supreme (or existed at all).

1 Kings 18:22 - Then Elijah said to the people, “I am the only remaining prophet of Yahuwah, but Baal has four hundred and fifty prophets.

23 - Get two bulls for us. Let the prophets of Baal choose one bull for themselves, cut it into pieces, and place it on the wood but not light the fire. And I will prepare the other bull and place it on the wood but not light the fire.

24 - Then you may call on the name of your elohim, and I will call on the name of Yahuwah. The Elohim who answers by fire, He is Elohim.”

Well, a display like this one was promising to be a most deciding one. Fire come out of the heaven could only mean one thing, that it came for Yahuwah.

1 Kings 18:25 - Then Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, “Since you are so numerous, choose for yourselves one bull and prepare it first. Then call on the name of your elohim, but do not light the fire.”

26 - And they took the bull that was given them, prepared it, and called on the name of Baal from morning until noon, shouting, “O Baal, answer us!”

But there was no sound, and no one answered as they leaped around the altar they had made.

27 - At noon Elijah began to taunt them, saying, “Shout louder, for he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or occupied, or on a journey. Perhaps he is sleeping and must be awakened!”

28 - So they shouted louder and cut themselves with knives and lances, as was their custom, until the blood gushed over them.

29 - Midday passed, and they kept on raving until the time of the evening sacrifice. But there was no response; no one answered, no one paid attention.

For a very long time, the priest of Baal had mocked Eliyah, so no one can blame Eliyah for mocking these pagan priests back and their absolute lunacy in thinking their antics were in any way pleasing to Yahuwah. And cutting themselves up in a vain attempt to get their own way. (I had an ex-wife who did that). Is it any surprise that Yahuwah paid no attention to them? Isn’t that what we do with spoiled children, ignore them until they give up?

1 Kings 18:30 - Then Elijah said to all the people, “Come near to me.” So, all the people approached him, and he repaired the altar of Yahuwah that had been torn down.

31 - And Elijah took twelve stones, one for each tribe of the sons of Jacob, to whom the word of Yahuwah had come and said, “Israel shall be your name.”

32 - And with the stones, Elijah built an altar in the name of Yahuwah. Then he dug a trench around the altar large enough to hold two seahs of seed.

33 - Next, he arranged the wood, cut up the bull, placed it on the wood,

34 - and said, “Fill four waterpots and pour the water on the offering and on the wood.”

“Do it a second time,” he said, and they did it a second time.

“Do it a third time,” he said, and they did it a third time.

35 - So the water ran down around the altar and even filled the trench.

Verse 30 tells us that these Israelites had actually torn down the alter of Yahuwah and erected an alter to Baal instead. How could they have achieved such a state of depravity after having the most intimate relationship with Yahuwah of any humans since the days of Adam and Eve. They, like so many before them, simply loved the lie more than the truth. Without the nature changing spirit that inhabits our bodies today, we would be just like them. We must sincerely honour the fact that Yahuwah chose us for this special selecting, and not dishonor it by turning our backs on it.

I am not sure if the word “seah” is English or Hebrew (or a spelling error), but I could not find a definition in either.

1 Kings 18:36 - At the time of the evening sacrifice, Eliyah the prophet approached the altar and said, “O Yahuwah, Elohim of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that You are Elohim in Israel and that I am Your servant and have done all these things at Your command.

37 - Answer me, O Yahuwah! Answer me, so that this people will know that You, Yahuwah, are Elohim, and that You have turned their hearts back again.”

38 - Then the fire of Yahuwah fell and consumed the sacrifice, the wood, the stones, and the dust, and it licked up the water in the trench.

39 - When all the people saw this, they fell facedown and said, “Yahuwah, He is Elohim! Yahuwah, He is Elohim!”

40 - Then Eliyah ordered them, “Seize the prophets of Baal! Do not let a single one escape.” So, they seized them, and Elijah brought them down to the Kishon Valley and slaughtered them there.

Eliyah let them all know that he represented the very same Elohim that their most revered forefathers did. He was not seeking self-glory but glorified Yahuwah in all that he did and said, the same as Abraham, Isaac and Jacob did. And Yahuwah answered Eliyah by sending the fire and consuming the sacrifice. The people had no choice but to believe Eliyah when they witnessed the fire coming out of heaven and had to declare that Yahuwah was Elohim. And they seized all the false prophets who had deceived than and almost cost them their salvation and slaughtered them all.

However, Eliyah troubles were far from over. When Jezebel heard what Eliyah had done, she went wild and called for him to suffer the same death as her priest of Baal. The people may have repented, but the nation’s leaders had not.

1 Kings 19:1 - Now Ahab told Jezebel everything that Elijah had done and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword.

2 - So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “May the gods deal with me, and ever so severely, if by this time tomorrow I do not make your life like the lives of those you killed!”

Some people should be careful what they wish for. For Jezebel certainly got her wish. (The jury is still out on Hilary).

1 Kings 19:14 - “I have been very zealous for Yahuwah, the Elohim of Hosts,” he replied, “but the Israelites have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I am the only one left, and they are seeking my life as well.”

15 - Then Yahuwah said to him, “Go back by the way you came, and go to the Desert of Damascus. When you arrive, you are to anoint Hazael as king over Aram.

16 - You are also to anoint Jehu son of Nimshi as king over Israel and Elisha son of Shaphat from Abel-meholah to succeed you as prophet.

Yahuwah informs Eliyah basically that King Ahab’s reign is about to end and that he is to anoint Hazael as King of Aram and Jehu as king of Israel. Aram was a land to the north of Israel. Ahab defeated its former king in two decisive battles but apparently made a mistake in not executing him.

Apparently, it was not only King Ahab that was to be replaced. Eliyah was about to be replaced too, by Elisha, his apprentice. King Ahab was indeed “broken” by Yahuwah and Eliyah was glorified.

1 Kings 22 37 - So the king (Ahab) died and was brought to Samaria, where they buried him.

38 - And the chariot was washed at the pool of Samaria where the prostitutes bathed, and the dogs licked up Ahab’s blood, according to the word that Yahuwah had spoken.

I imagine it was the ultimate insult in those days to have one’s blood licked up by dogs. It was hardly fitting for any king. Leave it to Yahuwah to deliver the ultimate humiliation by turning the king into dog food.

2 Kings 9:30 - Now when Jehu arrived in Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it. So, she painted her eyes, adorned her head, and looked down from a window.

31 - And as Jehu entered the gate, she asked, “Have you come in peace, O Zimri, murderer of your master?”

32 - He looked up at the window and called out, “Who is on my side? Who?”

And two or three eunuchs looked down at him.

33 - “Throw her down!” yelled Jehu.

So, they threw her down, and her blood splattered on the wall and on the horses as they trampled her underfoot.

34 - Then Jehu went in and ate and drank. “Take care of this cursed woman,” he said, “and bury her, for she was the daughter of a king.”

35 - But when they went out to bury her, they found nothing but her skull, her feet, and the palms of her hands.

36 - So they went back and told Jehu, who replied, “This is the word of the LORD, which He spoke through His servant Elijah the Tishbite: ‘On the plot of ground at Jezreel the dogs will devour the flesh of Jezebel.

37 - And Jezebel’s body will lie like dung in the field on the plot of ground at Jezreel, so that no one can say: This is Jezebel.’”

The dogs not only licked Jezebel’s blood but almost totally consumed her. The new King wanted to bury her because, after all, she was the daughter of a king and deserved a royal funeral. However, when the servants of the king went to collect her remains, there was little left except her head, hands, and feet. So, this woman, who compelled the people of Israel to worship her former pagan gods in place of Yahuwah ended up as dog food, also. How appropriate!

When Judah was eventually taken into captivity, they were guilty of pretty much the same thing as their northern cousins. One would think that the example of Israel would have been enough of a warning; however, approximately 300 years later, Judah was facing a similar punishment. What in Yahuwah’s Name is wrong with us?

Then Yahushua, the promised Messiah, finally came. And what did they do? They killed Him. This is Judah we are talking about; the same tribe that suffered punishment for disobedience previously had now taken their level of sin to the next level, thinking they had killed Elohim and no longer had to listen to Him.

Despite what Yahushua was forced to go through, He never broke. His focus was totally on the Kingdom and what had to be done. His is the same focus we are to have if we are to survive this life.

Conclusion

Yes, it is true that most break under torture. However, we cannot afford to do that. If we break, that will be the end of us. There will be no second chances.

Plus, obedience unto death is what is expected of us. It is the ultimate test of our faith. There will be no further testing once this one is passed. Instead of fearing it, look forward to it as the ultimate way to prove our faith.

I can’t lie to you. It is not going to be easy. In fact, it will be anything but. However, others before us have done it. They made it all the way to the end without breaking. It is possible and we can do it. Realistically, some are going to fail. There are always some who do. According to my understanding there is no coming back after having known Yahuwah, to turn ones back and walk away. We must overcome any and all torture. One thing I am not sure of, in case anyone is contemplating it, if forcing the enemy to “take us out” rather than face torture, would constitute suicide or not. It certainly might be a copout, choosing death rather than face the test. Just saying.

At the same time, we must be bold in representing Yahuwah. When questioned, give scriptures for answers. Answer the Devil with the Word of Elohim. It is the best defense. It may not save you from death, but nothing does. There is no glory in dying in one’s sleep. If we must die for anything, let us at least die for something. And what greater thing is there to die for than an opportunity for eternal life.

Human nature tells us to do whatever we need to do to survive. It is part of our nature. Automatic! Therefore, we cannot predict how we are going to react when the time comes. So do not be the fool who thought they had all their ducks in a row and salvation in the bank. Anyone can mess up. Anyone can fail. Anyone can lose out on the Kingdom. Do NOT think it not possible. That is absolutely that biggest mistake any of us can make. Anyone who has been interrogated by police know what I am talking about. One goes in all cocky, thinking “They ain’t going to get nothing out of me”. But after hours and hours of expert interrogation techniques most break.

I firmly believe that our redemption lies in the Word of Yahuwah. It won’t diminish our torture, but perhaps it will make our tormentor so angry they will finish us off faster just to shut us up.

We do have a very rough road ahead of us, folks. However, do not despair. No one suffered, or will suffer, as much as Yahushua did. He was, at the time, of the flesh, and He felt every bit as much pain and humiliation as any one of us would in his place. Do not think that he suffered any less. He felt every lash of the whip, the full weight of the cross and the pain of the nails being driven through His flesh. His sacrifice was real. Yahushua suffered the same as any other creature. He was, after all, one of the creation. He always was one of us.

Yahuwah Bless
