Double Cross

Double Cross

Once in a while I come across and read a book that really opens up my eyes to what is really going on in the world. When I do I like to write my own book report on the information gleaned, partly to instill the information more firmly in my memory and partly to relay the information to others. I have just finished reading such a book called “Double Cross”, written by Chuck and Sam Giancana. Chuck Giancana is the brother of notorious Chicago mob boss Sam (Mooney) Giancana. The Sam Giancana who co-authored the book is Chuck’s son (Mooney’s godson). Giancana, along with the CIA and the Vatican were responsible for assassinations of Marilyn Monroe, John F. Kennedy and Bobby Kennedy. Of course most of the world is fully aware of this by now, although there still may be many Americans who refuse to believe that their utopian view of their country could possibly be so twisted and ugly.

Sam (Mooney) Giancana was born to poor Italian parents in Chicago’s “Little Italy” section, known as the “Patch” by the residents, on May 24, 1908. As a child he suffered terrible beatings from his father; who, at times, would chain him to a tree in the back yard and beat him mercilessly. Following the beating, the young child would be left chained to the tree for hours (well past dark) till his father finally released him. The result of these beatings is likely what shaped the child into the man that he became. In his child’s mind, his only defense then was to totally detach himself from all feelings of emotions common to most human beings (empathy, guilt, love, compassion). This detachment dogged his steps for his entire life. His one and only ally as a child, his mother, died during childbirth when Sam was only 2 years old, leaving him to be raised by his abusive father, who soon remarried and had 4 children by his second wife.

At the age of 10, Sam Giancana was deemed incorrigible by his teachers and was sent to the St. Charles Reformatory in 1918. After a six month stint in the reformatory, Sam was released, but did not return to his father’s house. Instead he lived on the streets, sleeping in cars and beneath back porches and stealing for his needs. By the age of 12 he was part of a Chicago street gang known as the 42’s. The 42’s started as a punk gang stealing clothing and whatever to make some survival money, but soon graduated to car thefts and eventually bombings and murder. Sam Giancana worked his way steadily up the ranks and soon earned a reputation as a wheelman for the gang. In those days the corruption of the justice system was quite well known. The cost for buying one’s way out of trouble was $500. By the time Sam Giancana was 13, he had earned the reputation of being the craziest member of the gang. He would do anything on a dare. The 42’s soon caught the attention of the more powerful criminal organizations and were used by those organizations for more hands-on crimes.

By the age of 15, Sam Giancana was working for “Diamond Joe” Esposito and was involved in running moonshine, etc. Esposito reigned as mob king of Chicago (and likely all of America) for 20 years. In 1924, after helping U.S. President, Calvin Coolidge gain the presidency, Esposito extracted a “favour” from the president allowing the mob to take over all union operations coast to coast. Esposito also extracted another favour from Coolidge; that the men he supplied with sugar, to make their moonshine during prohibition, receive special protection and all rights to bootlegging. These men were Joe Kennedy (JFK’s father) in Boston, Sam And Harry Bronfman of Canada, Lewis Rosenstiel of Cincinnati, and Joe Reinfeld of New Jersey. I cannot confirm if this was the actual beginning of the mob’s “partnership” with the U.S. government or not, but the book (Double Cross) exposes that at least every president from Coolidge to Nixon was into the mob for “guaranteeing” their election by vote manipulation and payoffs. Naturally the mob expected something in return – protection from the government while they freely ran their criminal enterprises.

Sam Giancana’s first “hit” attempt, at age 17, was on Johnny Torrio, a competitor of Al Capone’s who refused to “share the wealth”. Somehow Torrio survived two shotgun blasts that nearly gutted him on the spot. When he recovered, he took his savings (approximately $40 million) and got the heck out of Dodge. Giancana’s next orders from Capone were to take out the six Genna brothers, the most feared group in Chicago and allies of Torrio’s. After having 3 of their brothers gunned down, the remaining 3 Genna brothers fled with little but their lives intact. All of these activities took place before Giancana reached his 18th birthday. Giancana would also get his first taste of prison during this time – not for murder, but for car theft. His punishment was a 30 day stint in Joliet State Penitentiary.

During his 30 day stint in Joliet, Sam (Mooney) Giancana had time to reflect on his life and where he wanted to go with it. He thought a lot about his family and the only man in his life that had ever humbled him – his father. Upon release from Joliet, Sam returned to his father’s home late one night while the rest of the family slept and confronted his father. If Antonio Giancana thought he could still command respect and fear from his (still) teenaged son, his illusion was permanently destroyed that night. While he screamed at Sam to get out of his house, the smiling teenager walked up to his father calmly and informed him that he was not going anywhere; and that if his father ever touched him again, he would kill him. Having already heard of his son’s reputation for murder through the community grapevine, a wave of fear washed over his father’s face; and from that point on, a greatly subdued Antonio, lived a life of submission to his eldest son. While living with his family and making more money in one day than his family ever saw in a month of honest work, he did very little to improve his family’s income.

The rest of Sam (Mooney) Giancana’s life will likely make it into the history books at some point in time. For now the U.S. government’s cover-up of these events is still in effect. Sam Giancana’s life of crime was truly inspirational to the other crime bosses. He had a knack for recognizing opportunities that would net him multiple millions of dollars. In sharing his fortune with the appropriate bosses, Giancana quickly earned their respect and admiration for the “gifts” he brought to the table for making them all rich beyond anything they had ever dreamed possible. Because of his special “gift”, Giancana was deemed untouchable by the other bosses. After, gaining absolute control of American mob activities, Giancana went international. The newly formed CIA quickly saw an opportunity in Giancana for financing their “secret” activities abroad.

The CIA was formed to “protect” American interests abroad and supposedly have no jurisdiction within the U.S. Under the heading of “top secret”, their activities were allowed to go unchallenged and the American people were never supposed to find out what was really going on. What was going on, was gaining the control of all the governments of the world. Naturally, even Congress could not be publically informed of their activities; and the CIA could not go to them for the amount of funding required for their secretive manipulation of worldly affairs. They turned, instead, to the mob for a financial partnership. The CIA gained control of numerous 3rd world countries by bribery, murder and threats of murder. Rather than get involved in the illegal activities themselves, they hired the mob to carry out their contracts. Also, the countries they involved themselves in were known as prime sources of the world’s drug supplies. The mob would supply weapons, get paid in drugs, which they distributed in the black neighbourhoods of America. And, of course, the drugs eventually slipped into the white neighbourhoods as well.

Joe Kennedy was amongst those “in the know” of most of the CIA’s involvement with the mob. When he turned from bootlegging and entered the motion picture industry, Kennedy opened the doors to the mob to control that media and most of the well known stars of that era.

The “commie threat” of the 1950’s was instigated by the CIA, to scare the American people into willingly go to war with North Korea and later, Vietnam. The CIA feared communist takeover of these small, seemingly insignificant countries, because it would spell the end of their heroin supply. They need the drugs to finance their “secret wars” and to trade for weapons supplied to them by the mob. The amount of money made by both sides totaled in the billions every year. In fact, one other report that I read claimed that while the Russians occupied Afghanistan, the CIA was making 3 trillion dollars a year trading guns for opium with the Taliban. It did not matter to them that thousands of American soldiers died in these conflicts. Their only focus was on the money they were raking in. The young men who gave their lives in these conflicts were deemed “heroes” by the American government, but were really unwitting, patriotic dupes who honestly believed that they were giving their lives for their country, while their deaths really only served to help further line the pockets of the CIA, the Mob, the Vatican and numerous crooked politicians and oil rich tycoons.

Another purpose for controlling the governments of these nations was for the Mob to get a foothold in them. The Mobs interest was primarily in drug control, cigarette sales, weapon sales, oil and gambling. Everyone involved profited from these ventures.

In May of 1950, a U.S. Senator named Kefauver started a government committee to investigate organized crime. Kefauver’s main target was the New York Mobs. Somehow Giancana escaped any form of prosecution, not even receiving a summons to appear before the committee. He simply had too many cops and politicians in his pocket.

Prior to the Cuban revolution that put Fidel Castro in power, the country was run by a dictator named Batista. While he lined his pockets with a vast fortune, the people of Cuba lived in extreme poverty. The Mob and the CIA were largely responsible for the dictator’s vast wealth. Aside from the gambling revenue generated, both Cuba and Texas were central to the Mob/CIA’s drug trafficking and money laundering operations. Giancana’s “man” in Texas was none other than Jack Ruby, who was central to running these operations.

As the revolution began to gain steam, the Mob and the CIA both agreed that they should support both sides of the conflict “just in case”. After Castro gained power, he double crossed his financial benefactors, calling all Americans crooks and pimps. Of course anyone who double crossed the Mob (or the CIA) ended up paying with their lives. Thus the target was “painted” on Castro’s head.

Meanwhile, as mob operations in the U.S. continued to gain speed, the Vatican had their hand held out to receive some of the benefits. For their part, actual Roman Catholic priests were recruited to transport Mob money both cross country and across international borders. On the humorous side, one of these priests was actually named Father Cash. Actually the Vatican already had their hands in the pie in all of the countries that the CIA and the Mob were involved in. Just as the CIA was using the Mob for their agenda, and the mob was likewise using the CIA, the Vatican was using both. Just as the Vatican was involved in the American Revolution and infiltrated the government of the newly formed nation from its outset, so were they responsible for setting up the office of the CIA and had their best agents at the helm of that secret organization. As I have alluded to in many other articles, the Vatican has their hand in the pie of virtually every aspect of worldly politics in almost every nation. This has been trade mark of the Roman Catholic Church (RCC) since its inception. There is absolutely no reason to believe they act any differently today.

In May of 1956, Joe Kennedy made known through Chicago’s Mayor Daley that he wanted to get in touch with Sam Giancana. Joe had gotten himself in trouble once before with the Jewish “Purple Gang” of Detroit, and Chicago had come to his rescue getting the contract on his life cancelled.

Joe initially made his fortune in bootlegging. From there he made a killing in Hollywood. At the end of prohibition, he was allowed to hang onto 3 liquor distributorships, Gordon’s Gin, Dewar’s and Haig & Haig, through his company, Somerset Imports. One day Sam revealed a very interesting story to his naive brother Chuck.

P. 304

[It also was no secret according to Moony, that Joe Kennedy - along with such industrialists such as General Motors’s founder William Crapo Durant and John David Rockefeller Jr. - had been given prior knowledge of the coming stock market crash in 1929’. “In fact”, Mooney told Chuck, “they made it happen. Then they figured out they could get even richer. ****, old man Kennedy made over a million bucks selling the market short before it fell. They manipulated the whole ******* thing.”]

(The *** represent bad words).

In the 30’s Kennedy used his leverage to obtain campaign contributions for FDR. He was rewarded by being appointed chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Four years later Kennedy raised the same amount to get FDR re-elected, and was rewarded with the post of Ambassador to England. In the early fifties, Kennedy decided to distance himself from the organized crime syndicate by selling Somerset Imports and his interests in the Hialeah Racetrack. He began turning his attention towards politics instead. This didn’t initially bother the Mob because they knew that Kennedy still owed them big time and fully expected him to be their man on the inside.

Joe Kennedy had approached Sam Giancana another time in regards to a problem his son Jack had landed himself in. Giancana helped Jack get a marriage annulment with no publicity being raised and no legal record existing.

In spite of all the favours Kennedy owed the syndicate, when mob boss Frank Costello of New York tried contacting him for a favour, Joe Kennedy made the serious mistake of ignoring his calls and messages. Costello flipped and put out a contract on his life (making this the second time a contract was put out on him). This was the prime reason for Kennedy wanting to contact Giancana again this time. Even Giancana admitted that Kennedy was pretty gutsy approaching him in Chicago, not knowing if Giancana was going to fulfill Costello’s contract. But he did. He explained the circumstances to Giancana that the reason he did not want to fulfill his obligation to Costello was because his son, Jack, was being groomed to run for president and he could not afford any bad press. At one point in the conversation, Kennedy attempted to deny that he owed Costello anything; that Costello had risen to power on his (Kennedy’s) coattails. Then Giancana reminded Kennedy whose coattails he (Kennedy) had ridden in on (Giancana’s). Kennedy sobered up quick after that.

Kennedy basically made a number of promises to Giancana that he would fulfill once his son, Jack, was in the White House.

Page 308

[Mooney turned to look him square in the eye. “Let me see what I can do. But I want your word that the day your son is elected …. That’s the day that –“.

Kennedy interrupted: “That Sam Giancana is elected, too. He’ll be your man. I swear to that. My son …. the President of the United States …. will owe you his father’s life. He won’t refuse you, ever. You have my word”.]

Little did Kennedy know at the time that his treachery was going to cost both his sons their lives. For extra insurance Giancana bugged the establishments both of the Kennedy brothers liked to frequent to quell their raging testosterone. He developed a portfolio of incriminating evidence that, if disclosed, would end the brothers’ political ambitions permanently. However, when the time came, other mobsters and the CIA asked that he not go through with it – at least not yet. They figured it would draw too much attention to their own activities.

To ensure Kennedy’s election to the presidency, Giancana helped raise campaign contributions largely by skimming off the coffers of the labour unions. However, by midnight of Election Day it looked like Nixon was going to be the clear winner. Giancana had to scramble to inform his people to institute plan “B”, bribing and using their muscle to obtain the required number of votes. Even then John F. Kennedy only won by a tenth of one percent of the vote. Nixon should have won that election. Nixon was one politician who was already playing ball with the Mob and had also received campaign contributions from them. Like usual, both sides were being played against the middle to ensure that no matter who got elected, the Mob and the CIA would have their man in the white house.

Mean while, Bobby Kennedy got involved with the senate committee to fight organized crime, and he went after the U.S. gangsters with a vengeance. The Mob all wondered what the heck Joe was doing? As it later turned out, Joe Kennedy decided to use his sons and the power of the presidency to rid himself of all the mobsters (including Giancana, who had saved his life twice) that he owed favours to by having them put in jail. He virtually sacrificed his son’s lives to rid himself of this debt.

Naturally, the syndicate still wanted to get back into Cuba. They hired a chemist to concoct all sorts of methods of poisoning Castro. However, they blew everything on the very first try and, afterword, Castro sealed up all the loose ends, making his guard impregnable. This same chemist would later concoct the lethal cocktail that killed Marilyn Monroe.

Not all hope was lost yet, though. There were a mere 1400 Cuban nationals in Florida that were training to regain what they had lost. The CIA was arming them – again through the Mob – exchanging weapons for drugs. After Kennedy got in, this was to be one of the first orders of business. The plan was for the nationals to invade and create a beachhead for the U.S. army to follow right behind with the help of the air force. They faced a Cuban army of 200, 000 men. Without the help of the U.S. armed forces, the mission would be doomed. After the Cubans secured the beachhead, John Kennedy canceled the U.S. military’s aid and left the Cuban nationals sitting ducks for Castro’s forces. A good number of them were killed and the rest were taken prisoner. This event became known as the Bay of Pigs fiasco.

Kennedy made a number of excuses for his decision and they were accepted by the general public. However, his action infuriated the Mob bosses and the CIA. (The Vatican, too, I imagine). The real reason behind Kennedy’s decision was to diminish the power of the Mob and the CIA; for he was not long in voicing his agenda of wanting to dismantle the CIA altogether. That was the decision that cost John Kennedy his life. Also remember, that the Vatican was largely responsible for the formation of the CIA to begin with. Therefore, they had a beef with Kennedy over his plan, also.

Of course he made other fatal decisions as well. One was a repeat of the same mistake Abraham Lincoln made in wanting to take the power of printing the nation’s paper notes away from the central bank and having the government print it. The Vatican is heavily involved with central banks of all nations and the world bank. The Federal Reserve Bank in the U.S. is completely controlled by the Vatican. In Fact, one of the rumors is that they had secretly shipped all the gold in the reserve to the Vatican just before the 9-11 strike. All the gold was kept in the basement of the twin towers. It was a good way to cover up their theft and keep it from the American people.

P. 309

[He broke into a broad smile when he finished. “hey, give me a Gordon’s on the rocks.” He cried to the bartender from his perch on the stool next to Chuck.

“Gordon’s? Since when did you start drinking gin?”

Mooney picked up the glass and took a sip, then smacked his lips dramatically. “Right now, that’s when.” He grinned. “From now on when I have a gin, it’s Gordon’s … To remind me that Joe Kennedy will sell anything to save his own skin. His liquor business, the senate, the presidency … the White House … “He lifted the glass and tipped it towards Chuck. “Even his own son.”

That night, Mooney put in a call to New York. The contract was off on Joe Kennedy.]

A short time after Mooney had the contract on Joe Kennedy cancelled, Booby Kennedy joined the McClellan committee investigating organized crime and union corruption. When they started looking directly at the leaders of organized crime, Sam Giancana was not happy.

P.329 -30

“What the *** is wrong with that Kennedy brat?” Mooney exclaimed. “Can you believe that little bastard is going for the throat? It doesn’t make sense … Doesn’t he know that he is costing his brother every union vote in America? And what the hell is wrong with his brother Jack, anyway? *** he is on the committee, too … and just about as bad as Bobby. Are they ****** nuts?”

J. Edgar Hoover, the FBI director, was also on the Syndicate’s payroll – in a sense.

P.339

[Mooney also confided that J. Edgar Hoover himself had been on the pad for years. “Costello worked the whole thing out. He knew Hoover was just like every other politician and copper, only meaner and smarter than most. Hoover didn’t want an envelope each month – that offended his sensibilities.” Mooney said sneering. “so we never gave him cash outright; we gave him something better. Tips on fixed horse races. It was up to him how much money he wanted to make on the information. He could bet $10,000 on a horse that showed 20 – 1 odds, if he wanted to … and he has.”]

With Bobby Kennedy stirring up such a stink concerning organized crime, J. Edgar Hoover was left with egg on his face. He had been proclaiming all along that organized crime did not exist in America. He had to save face by declaring his own war on the Mob. He moved special Mob busting units of FBI agents into all the major cities.

Eventually the McClellan commission did set their sights on Sam Giancana and issued a subpoena for him to appear before the committee. Giancana; however, kept dodging them and they could not find him to serve the subpoena.

Lyndon B. Johnson, like most politicians, had been involved with the Mob for some time as well. The Mob decided that Johnson was to be Kennedy’s running mate and future Vice President. That would give them a little extra insurance and an informant inside the White House.

One of the promises that Giancana extracted from Joe and Jack Kennedy was that Robert Kennedy would have no position of authority in his brother’s government. However, after he won the election John Kennedy had Bobby appointed as the Attorney General of the U.S. This was a move that infuriated Giancana.

P. 388

[The news of Bobby Kennedy’s appointment as attorney general that December came to Mooney like a rabbit punch in the dark. The relaxed attitude he’d developed since the election vanished as suddenly as it had appeared. A seething rage simmered beneath his bitter disappointment.

The immediate question from Hoffa, Marcello, and Trafficante was, “What the **** is Jack Kennedy up to?”]

P. 389

[It had occurred to Mooney that Joe Kennedy, “the wily old bastard” had had a brainstorm. By putting Bobby in charge of the justice department, it could only be one of two things: Either Bobby would put the clamps on Hoover and tell him to lay off the Outfit, as Jack and Joe had promised, or Bobby would be utilized as henchman, with a virtual army of FBI agents at his disposal to destroy all those to whom the Kennedys owed favours. The former seemed hopeful but highly unlikely – it would be a behaviour totally out of character for Robert Kennedy, the crime buster of McClellan committee fame.

It’s a brilliant move on Joe’s part,” he said ruefully. “He’ll have Bobby wipe us out to cover his own dirty tracks and it will all be done in the name of the Kennedy ‘war on crime.’ Brilliant. Just ****** brilliant.”]

At the same time Giancana was receiving confidential FBI reports detailing their investigation into organized crime. These reports were being sent to him by none other than J.F.K himself through two female couriers – Judy Campbell and Marilyn Monroe. However, as it turned out, Kennedy was only sending Giancana reports he wanted Giancana to read. If nothing else those reports revealed to Giancana that the FBI were more than glorified boy scouts. He could see from the reports he read that the FBI had a much deeper knowledge of their operations than he ever would have guessed. He also realized that he had an informer in his midst. He had a good guess who that informer was and took care of the matter in very short order.

If they had any hopes of Bobby Kennedy calling off the FBI, their hopes were dashed when Bobby began what would turn out to be the largest attack on organized crime in American history. Bobby produced a target list of the 30 top Mob figures in America and at the top of that list was the name Sam Giancana. Giancana then realized that he had been double crossed by the Kennedys. His first move was to have wire taps installed in all of the Kennedys favorite haunts.

P. 396

[Within the CIA, the dismay at having been betrayed by both the President and the attorney general, as well as the President’s open promise to dismantle the intelligence agency’s power soon turned to hatred, creating a ripple effect that would blacken the moods of the men Mooney dealt with in his covert operations. These men expressed their outrage at the Bay of Pigs operation along with their fear that Kennedy now posed a very real threat to the CIA’s continued autonomy, perhaps its very existence. Their highly vocal dissension served to confirm Mooney’s own feelings about the Kennedys and made him even more doubtful of Jack’s true intentions. It was in this turbulent climate that two of America’s most powerful forces became allies. The Outfit and the CIA now shared a common enemy: the President of the United States.]

P.406

[The events of the past months were proof positive to Mooney of the ultimate double cross. Left unchallenged his stature with the Commission and his men across the country would suffer irreparable damage. Quite simply, America’s number one Mob boss had never been made a fool of in his entire life – or if he had, the perpetrator of such an offense hadn’t lived to tell of his accomplishment. Chuck didn’t believe Mooney would ever allow the Kennedys to be the first.]

P. 407-8

[For months activity had been fierce; Mooney had collaborated with the intelligence agency in covert operations ranging from the Castro assassination plot and the Cuban-exile training to Latin American, Middle Eastern, and Asian operations. He’d also played a critical role in the CIA’s international smuggling and money-laundering ventures. Along with his New York friend Carlo Gambino, Mooney had introduced the agents early on to the range of services that might be performed by Sicilian Mob financial wizard and Vatican consultant Michael Sindona.

Mooney confided that through their Vatican connections and shady banking deals, he and Gambino had assisted the CIA in pouring million of illegally earned dollars into Sindona’s illicit “slush funds.” In exchange, the CIA contributed heavily to Catholic charities – some legitimate, others not.]

There we have it. The Unholy Trinity, the Vatican, the Mob and the CIA. All three had good reason to want to see the power of the Kennedys brought to an end. What has always puzzled me is why Bobby would later seek the Presidency. I knew as soon as he announced his plan to run that he was going to end up like his brother. How could he not have known that he was painting a target on his back? Was he really so blinded by the wealth and legacy of the Kennedys?

Giancana decided it was time to use the evidence he had been gathering on the Kennedys sexual exploits to blackmail them into compliance. However, the CIA thought that such blackmail would also reveal too much about the CIA/Mob connection and got him to back off. Giancana soon came up with another plan. That plan involved setting Bobby up for the murder of Marilyn Monroe.

Marilyn Monroe’s climb up the ladder of success was largely due to Mob influence – plus the fact that she slept with all the producers. That is how she ended up carrying messages back and forth between Jack Kennedy and Sam Giancana. Jack Kennedy courted Marilyn for a time and when he was finished with her, Bobby stepped in for a little piece of the action. However, Marilyn ended up falling head over heels in love with Bobby, and when he tried to end the affair, she began causing him problems – first calling his office and later his home. The CIA, of course, had many of these conversations on tape and knew exactly what was going on. She was threatening Bobby that she intended to blow the lid off her whole involvement with the Kennedys. She also knew too much concerning the CIA/Mob connection, and suddenly became a liability to them. So the CIA/Mob alliance decided to kill two birds with one stone – kill Monroe and frame Bobby for the murder. However, it was not to work out as planned.

It was found out that Bobby Kennedy planed to be in California the weekend of August 4. Sam Giancana made plans to be there as well; along with four of his most valued henchmen. They had already set up the place where Monroe was staying with audio and video surveillance.

P. 413

[Eavesdropping nearby, where the electronic surveillance equipment had been set up by Bernie Spindel, the killers patiently waited for the attorney general to arrive.

Bobby Kennedy finally did appear at Marilyn’s home late on Saturday, accompanied by another man. Listening in on the conversation, Mooney’s men ascertained that Marilyn was more than a little angry with Bobby. She became agitated – hysterical, in fact – and in response, they heard Kennedy instruct the man with him, evidently a doctor, to give her a shot to “calm her down.” Shortly thereafter, the attorney general and the doctor left.

The killers waited for the cover of darkness and, sometime before midnight, entered Marilyn’s home. She struggled at first, it was said, but already drugged by the injected sedative, thanks to Bobby’s doctor friend, their rubber gloved hands easily forced her nude body to the bed. Calmly, with all the efficiency of a team of surgeons, they taped her mouth shut and proceeded to insert a specially doctored Nembutal suppository into her anus. Then they waited.]

Bobby, unaware that there had been other intruders in the house after him, actually did think he was responsible for the death of Monroe – that the injection his doctor had administered had been the cause of death. He went into panic mode and had the FBI cover up all evidence of his being there. If nothing else, his actions proved how much of a hypocrite Bobby really was. While doggedly pursuing the Mob for their criminal activities, he was not above doing everything in his power to cover up his own (supposed) crime. Giancana could not bring forth any of his evidence without exposing himself and his buddies in the CIA. Marilyn’s diary, phone records, love letters, all disappeared. And so, the death of Marilyn Monroe was ruled a suicide and went unsolved.

Following Monroe’s death, the FBI really stepped up their pressure on the Mob. “In January 1963 the cry went out from the underworld coast to coast to eliminate the Kennedys.” (P.421).

On November 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas. It came to no surprise to those in the know including Chuck Giancana; however, he would not hear the entire story for several years. Lee Harvey Oswald turned out to be the patsy on whom the blame for the assassination was placed.

Following the assassination of his brother, Bobby never again met with his special task force on organized crime. However, the FBI did not relent and stepped up the pressure on the Mob. In 1965 Sam “Mooney” Giancana was called before the grand jury where, as expected, he refused to answer any of their questions. He was; therefore, charged with contempt and jailed in the Cook County jail. He served approximately one year in jail before his release on Memorial Day 1966. Following his release Giancana decided to move to Mexico to get away from the FBI’s constant surveillance. He had everything set up stateside so that business would carry on as usual without his physical presence being needed. Giancana decided to focus his attention on his international ventures.

P. 431

[“Overseas is where it is all heading, Chuck,” Mooney continued. “I’ve got Trafficante on board for Asia. The Vietnam War is going to make a lot of guys rich. I’ve got Marcello in line for the **** from Latin America. Gambino and I’ll be working together on Europe and the Middle East. As far as Chicago’s concerned, Teets and Accardo and Ricca can handle it just fine without me here.”]

Giancana next proceeded to fill his brother in on the intricate details of the JFK assassination. Jack Ruby had long been Giancana’s man in Dallas, running strip clubs, gambling and narcotics for the Outfit and guns and drugs for the CIA. Ruby was put “in charge of overseeing the Outfit’s role in the assassination, collaborating in Dallas with government agents.” (P. 433). Lee Harvey Oswald was, in reality, a CIA agent but also had ties to the underworld. He was unwittingly selected to be set up as the patsy. Ruby was also selected because of his unusually good relationship with Dallas law enforcement. He could enter and wonder around the Dallas police headquarters without raising any suspicion. Oswald was never meant to live long enough to be arrested, however, and, since it was Ruby’s operation, he had to go to any length to silence him; else Ruby would have been held accountable by the Outfit. Ruby decided that life in prison – event execution- was better than facing the wrath of the Outfit. Oswald’s stint in Russia was as a secret agent. He was never a Castro sympathizer, nor a communist at all – as the press would later paint him.

P.436

[Over the years Chuck had heard the names of many oilmen mentioned by his brother as “business associates,” among them Syd Richardson, H. L. Hunt, Clint Murchison, and Mike Davis. Chuck had also heard the names of several Texas politicians, including Lyndon Johnson, said by Mooney to have received substantial Outfield and oil-money backing.

Mooney now confided that the dollars raised for the hit on the President – each man involved in the assassination plot received fifty thousand dollars; Mooney said he personally received “millions in oil” – Had come from the wealthy right-wing Texas oilmen. Precisely who these financiers were, however, Mooney never disclosed. And, following a code well ingrained over many years in the Outfit, Chuck never asked.]

P. 438

[Mooney said that the entire conspiracy went “right up to the top of the CIA.” He claimed that some of its former and present leaders were involved, as well as a “half dozen fanatical right-wing Texans, Vice President Lyndon Johnson, and one of the team from the Bay of Pigs Action Office under Eisenhower.”]

P. 439

[Mooney said both “Richard Nixon and Lyndon Johnson knew about the whole damned thing,” having met with him several times in Dallas immediately prior to the assassination.

As the man responsible for citywide security, the mayor (Earle Cabell) provided the police protection for the Presidential motorcade. Mooney grinned. “They made sure it was so loose down there on the day of the hit, ****, a four year old could have nailed Jack Kennedy.”]

P. 439-40

[From Chicago, Mooney brought in Richard Cain, Chuckie Nicoletti, and Milwaukee Phil, all having worked previously on the “Bay of Pigs deal.’ Mooney said that both Cain and Nicoletti were actual gunmen for the hit, being placed at opposite ends of the Dallas Book Depository. In fact, he asserted that it was Cain, not Oswald, who’d actually fired from the infamous sixth-story window.

To eliminate Oswald, Mooney said the CIA had selected White and Tippit, who both – like Richard Cain, who’d served in Chicago’s Sheriff’s Department – held positions in law enforcement, on the Dallas police force. Under the guise of self-defense and in the line of duty, they were to murder the “lone gunman.” However, Tippit had wavered, Mooney said, allowing Oswald to escape. Thus, White had been forced to kill his partner. “Probably the only real screw up in the whole goddamned deal.”]

Giancana did not expect any problems from Hoover and the FBI. Hoover hated the Kennedys as much as anybody and would not help Bobby find out who killed his brother. He covered up everything the FBI agents found and informed the CIA of anyone who knew too much, after which the CIA “took care of the problem.” (P. 440).

P. 441

He said the murder of President Kennedy was little different from the plot to kill Castro, the murders of Vietnam leaders, that of Panama’s president – or any of the other dozens of military/CIA-sponsored coups propagated throughout the world.

“On November 22, 1963,“ Mooney stated with chilling authority, “the United States had a coup, it’s that simple. The government of this country was overthrown by a handful of guys who did their job so well … not one American even knew it happened. But I know. I know I’ve guaranteed the Outfit’s future … once and for all. We’re set here in the United States. So, it’s time to move on to greener pastures. Spreadin’ the Outfit’s power and making a fortune in deals overseas are two of the best reasons I can think of to leave the country.” He paused and smiled somewhat sheepishly. “And I guess we would add that it’ll be damned nice not being tailed by the G.”]

P. 443-4

[As a by-product of Mooney’s “Black Hand” deals, ,the CIA “White Hand” gained a firmer economic foothold for its U.S. corporate sponsors. Oil empires, in particular, oozed into Latin America with ease, the wheels of commerce greased by the CIA.

The CIA profited as well, Discovering through Mooney’s bribe-friendly contacts new avenues for diverting their own “dirty money,” funds garnered from illicit CIA activities.

To cover the millions of dollars that would soon pour across the Mexican-U.S. borders, Mooney called on the Roman Catholic Church.

In 1965, Cardinal Stritch left Chicago to assume the post of Archbishop, most conveniently in Marcello’s city of New Orleans. Stritch’s successor in Chicago, Cardinal Cody, proved in Mooney’s estimation to be a stellar replacement. Mooney said Cody was a corrupt man who enjoyed the trappings of wealth and, therefore welcomed a close relationship with him. With Stritch’s move to New Orleans, Mooney claimed he hadn’t lost an ally in the church; he’d merely gained additional channels for money laundering.

Father Cash, the Chicago priest Mooney utilized as a courier, had travelled under Mooney’s orders across the nation and to Europe for close to two decades. With Mooney’s move into the Southern hemisphere, Cash was told to add Latin America to his itinerary.]

In April of 1969, Chuck Giancana would find out about the assassination of Robert Kennedy from one of the JFK assassins, Chuckie Nicoletti.

P. 453-5

“Setting up that guy Sirhan to take the rap, ***, didn’t it work like a charm? Of course,” he added winking, “the son of a ***** didn’t have much choice.”

“Hey, when you work for the Outfit and owe them a small fortune … and you can’t cough it up … that’s what happens. Right? ****, now that I think about it, it was a lot like the Ruby and Oswald deal.”

“You know,” Nicoletti whispered, “Oswald didn’t really fire a shot. At least Sirhan did that much. But even if he couldn’t hit a barn, it didn’t matter, ‘cause Mooney had another guy do the job on Bobby … some Mexican he probably dug up down south.”

Tommy Payne would later tell Chuck that the Chicago Outfit had controlled everything at the Los Angeles hotel where the hit on Bobby Kennedy had occurred and that the other gunman – an Outfit hit man – was a “last minute replacement,” for a regular security guard. “It was all planned out … down to the last detail and covered up … just like the other brother,” Payne confided.]

On June 19, 1975, the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence arrived in Chicago to transport Giancana from his Oak Park residence to Washington D.C., for his testimony before the Senate Committee. He had been deported from Mexico about one year earlier and was under house arrest at his Chicago home. The Committee was especially interested in his connection to the CIA and the Castro assassination plot.

Although it is highly doubtful that Giancana would have told them anything, the CIA was nervous and put out a contract on him. Someone he trusted explicitly carried out that contract on the same night that the SSCI landed in Chicago. One adage that Sam Giancana often spoke of to his brother Chuck was, “Find out who’s still alive and you’ll find the killer.” (P. 464). By the time all was said and done only Santo Trafficante remained alive. However, Chuck believes that it was Johnny Roselli who actually carried out the hit on his brother.

Conclusion

Most stories have a hero and a villain. In this story (sadly) all the characters were villains in one way or another. Did all the blood and tears of that era do anything to change the political landscape in the United States of America? Well, the Vatican is still in existence; as is the CIA and Organized crime. Therefore, the “Unholy Trinity” still exists. One would have to be the most naive person on the planet to believe that they operate any differently today than they did back then. If anything they have likely honed their methods to near perfection by now.

Just think about all the events that have culminated since then. The Iran Contra Affair, the invasion of Panama, 9-11, the invasion of Afghanistan, the invasion of Iraq, the strange circumstances surrounding the killing and burial at sea of Bin Laden and the rumblings today concerning an invasion of Iran. When exposed in the light of what is revealed in the book “Double Cross”, a repetitive pattern clearly takes shape.

To keep any incriminating evidence of wrongdoing away from themselves, the Vatican always operates through other agencies. It is difficult to say who learned from whom. Did the Vatican learn from organized crime and the CIA or was it the other way around? My bet would be on the latter speculation, since that is exactly how the RCC has operated since its formation. The prime goal of the RCC has always been that of world domination. To dominate religiously they also have to dominate politically. All the talk today of a coming One World Order does little to dispel these suspicions.

The CIA today is still known as an international organization with supposedly no legal authority within the United Sates. However, George Bush Jr. took care of that with the establishment of the Homeland Security Agency. Now the U.S. has a secretive agency that is allowed to operate much the same as the CIA, only their job is to spy on American citizens. Another coup will be forth coming in which Americans will be expected to trade their status as U.S. citizens for that of global citizenship. They have already built super prisons all over the U.S. in anticipation of this event. The result will make the Nazis of Germany look like a bunch of choir boys.

My heart goes out to all the future generations of U.S., and indeed, all worldly citizens. Theirs will not be a world I’d care to live in. Thank Yahuwah that He has a plan that will save us from this coming evil and a time of tribulation that the world has never seen the likes of before.

The Vatican has all of its bases covered. The seats of both the offices of the False Prophet and the Beast can be found in that city and within the RCC. All prophesies concerning these two offices will come to fruition soon. None of us are powerful enough to stop them. In fact, during the last 3 ½ years of his reign, the Beast and the False Prophet (with all the miracles he will be working) will have the world so brainwashed that the citizens of the world will indeed believe that they are living in the millennium under the Messiah’s rule. Only Believers that truly come to being of one mind with Yahuwah will see through their camouflage and recognize the Beast and the False Prophet for who they are.

May Yahuwah speed His coming.

Yahuwah Bless
