Jeremiah 24

Jeremiah 24:1 - Yahuwah showed me, and, behold, two baskets of figs were set before the temple of Yahuwah, after that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, and the princes of Judah, with the carpenters and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon.

2 - One basket had very good figs, even like the figs that are first ripe: and the other basket had very naughty figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad.

3 - Then said Yahuwah unto me, What seest thou, Jeremiah? And I said, Figs; the good figs, very good; and the evil, very evil, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.

4 - Again the word of Yahuwah came unto me, saying,

5 - Thus saith Yahuwah, the Elohim of Israel; Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for their good.

6 - For I will set mine eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up.

7 - And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am Yahuwah: and they shall be my people, and I will be their Elohim: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.

8 - And as the evil figs, which cannot be eaten, they are so evil; surely thus saith Yahuwah, So will I give Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the residue of Jerusalem, that remain in this land, and them that dwell in the land of Egypt:

9 - And I will deliver them to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth for their hurt, to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places whither I shall drive them.

10 - And I will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, among them, till they be consumed from off the land that I gave unto them and to their fathers.

This was one of those Sabbath mornings when I had no idea what topic to do a Sabbath study on. As usual in such instances, I let Yahuwah decide. I do this by going to the “Table of Contents” of the Scriptures (online version) and closing my eyes and pointing (I’m really a high tech kinda guy. Lol). Today Yahuwah guided my finger to Jeremiah 24. I then did the same thing in regard to which chapter to choose.

The funny thing about history is that it keeps repeating itself. Since the sin of Adam, the human race has been repeating the same mistakes over and over again. In Jeremiah’s day, the nation of Judah had grown so much in wealth and prosperity that they forgot who it was that gave it to them; and began to honour themselves, rather than their heavenly Father. It was then that destruction came swiftly within their borders.

Is history about to repeat itself again? We have a number of Western powers that started out honouring Yahuwah for their riches and have now abandoned Him in their quest for greater power. In fact, they are trying desperately to remove all memory of Yahuwah from the minds of their citizens. They are repeating the mistakes of the wicked kings of Judah. Can we expect different consequences or pretty much the same?

I am sure we have all heard some individuals blame “god” whenever something goes wrong in their lives. Of course the answer lies within their very statement. The “god” they worship is not the Elohim of Israel but an imposter commonly known as Baal. However, Baal had many pseudonyms attached to his name such as Lord and Gad (pronounced Gaud, God). Therefore, if we are worshipping in one of his pseudonyms, we are indirectly worshipping Baal as well. If we are, in fact, worshipping Baal, then why would we expect any help from Yahuwah?

It is the Baal worshippers that bring calamity and the wrath of Yahuwah upon any nation. They are the baskets of rotten fruit. However, the rotten baskets are often gathered along with the good fruit and weeded out later. The same thing happens with the children of Elohim. Yahushua revealed this fact in the parable of the tares. The tares were harvested along with the good wheat and separated later. In the mean time, the good fruit has to suffer along with the bad.

The Western nations of this earth are about to be brought down low and humbled before the rest of humanity in a manner unprecedented in human history. The good fruit is going to be harvested along with the bad. The children of Israel (the Western nations) are, once again, going to be brought into slavery. Once again, their only way out of slavery will be to remain loyal to Yahuwah throughout it all.

The northern 10 tribes of Israel are an excellent example of the rotten fruit. Their punishment was to be totally cut off from Yahuwah and scattered amongst the other (pagan) nations of the earth. They soon forgot who they were and who their Elohim was. They began worshiping the national deity of whichever nation they ended up in. Will the people of the Western nations follow the path of Northern Israel; or will there be a pocket of believers that remain firm in their devotion to Yahuwah and be brought back into the land? I am sure there will be, but not until the return of Yahushua.

I feel that one of the biggest mistakes Believers today make lies in assuming that they are going to be spared suffering through the coming tribulation. Some may indeed escape suffering through the final half (3 ½ years) of the tribulation, but all will suffer the first half. Those rescued will be from the baskets of good fruit. This, of course, will make the bad fruit angry and they will pursue and attempt to kill the good fruit. Father will turn against son and son against father. Like they say, “Misery loves company”. So we will be facing hostility from every faucet of our lives – family, friends and coworkers, all will turn against us. We will become like the Jews in Nazi occupied countries.

The Global Elite plan to make things very uncomfortable for die-hard Believers. We can expect that Bibles will be banned; as will worship services and Bible studies. We will not be allowed to utter the name of our Elohim or His son under penalty of death. We will not be allowed to keep either the weekly or annual Sabbaths. We will be imprisoned for teaching our children about our Elohim. We will be expected to worship the “god” of our captors and bow down before some “abomination of desolation”. We will not be allowed to conduct any form of commerce without possessing the “Mark of the Beast”.

When the children of Israel saw the armies of its enemies advancing towards them, they fled into the mountains and deserts – somewhere where pursuit would be made difficult, but not impossible. One might wonder, in this age of advanced technology, if there is actually anyplace on this earth where someone can hide. We will definitely need to rely on Yahuwah like never before.

All the survivalist training in the world cannot help us if Yahuwah is not with us. I mean, it doesn’t hurt to have such skills, but that is not what will save us. The powers that be will exhaust all means to track us down and kill us. Only Yahuwah will be able to block their efforts.

Is it yet time to flee? I don’t believe so; but it is pretty close. It is time to think about it and make whatever physical preparations we can think of. However, most importantly, we need to prepare spiritually. If we do not prepare ourselves spiritually, all our efforts will be in vain.

Those spiritual preparations should include the possibility of suffering martyrdom. Some of us may not escape in time, or some may be chosen to remain behind and witness for Yahuwah until the very end. Prepare for the worst and pray for the best. In my opinion, that is the safest bet. If we are prepared to sacrifice our lives for Yahuwah, we will be as spiritually prepared as anyone can possibly get.

It might also be said that in death, there is safety. Nothing can any longer hurt us once we are dead. However, Yahuwah has the power over death and can and will resurrect us again. Yahushua believed this when hanging on the stake. It was his faith that resurrected him from the grave to become the firstborn of the new creation. We can expect the exact same thing when we face our trial.

Our belief in Yahuwah and our faith is about to be tested far beyond what any other human being has been made to suffer. Physically it will be impossible to endure. Spiritually, it will be a test that can put us into the forefront of the Kingdom as those who suffered the greatest.

No matter what the physical outcome, it is our spiritual condition that matters the most. Yahuwah is getting ready to bring in His spiritual harvest. He will be seeking the cream of the crop – those in whom “He” trusts are no longer corruptible.

We achieve incorruption by becoming one in nature with the Father and His son. The core of Yahuwah’s nature revolves around His tremendous capability for love. Yahushua told us that we must even love our enemies. And, Yahushua did love even those who took part in his death. Are we yet capable of such love? I know I’m not; but I am working on it. The best thing I have found so far is to shut my mouth and listen. (Lol).

True Believers have an insight into the “big picture” that the majority of the earth’s population does not have. We know and understand Yahuwah’s ultimate plan for mankind. We know and understand the meaning and the necessity for death; that it is not the end but rather the beginning of a new and exciting life where death will never again be an option.

Our biggest obstacle is our own human (carnal) nature. It keeps drawing us back into the world like a moth to a flame. For example, everything we say and do should be carefully measured as to what presumed effect our words or actions will have on the recipient. Will they lead that person closer to Yahuwah or further away. Will their blood be on our hands?

When fully of one nature with Yahuwah, we will think, speak and act as He does (or would). We would do our best not to cause any offense. We would be creatures modeled after the Creator and; therefore, perfectly acceptable as models to the rest of mankind. When the world sees us, they will know that they have seen Yahuwah.

And yet, as the world hated Yahushua, so will they hate us. They do not have the spirit of understanding; therefore, they do not understand us and they fear what they do not understand.

Have you ever stood before an angry mob that hated you so bad they wanted to literally tear you limb from limb? I can’t say I’ve had the pleasure, but I can certainly picture it. Would we stand our ground and speak the word of Yahuwah to them, as the faithful Stephan did; or would we cut and run? I believe you can imagine what Yahuwah’s choice for us would be.

We also have Yahushua’s example – the ultimate test. Can we hope to graduate via any lesser test? Our human spirit will be crying out for us to give into our tormentors and denounce Yahuwah. We will only overcome this trial if we are strong enough in the spirit.

Like everyone else, it is my hope to be whisked away to a place of safety to escape the coming tribulation. However, I have found nothing in the Scriptures that guarantees us any such thing. Since we do not know if we will be one of the 144,000, we should be preparing spiritually for the alternative. If we are not one of the 144,000 we should not look upon it as a failure. It merely means that we have some more growing in the spirit to do. Remember, we are made perfect by our sufferings and Yahuwah wants us to be prefect so that we can enjoy the reward that awaits us. Therefore, if left out, we should look upon it as a last opportunity to overcome our carnal nature and gain perfection. We should be grateful for being given this opportunity, since the alternative is eternal death.

The ultimate test is to be faithful unto death like Abraham and Isaac, Daniel, Yahushua and all his disciples (save one) and so on. If we prepare for that one test, all the rest will be a no-brainer. It might even help us be counted amongst the 144,000.

Yahuwah bless
