I am sure that an all out global war or nuclear holocaust is the last thing any of us wish to occur, but it certainly seems that this is the direction in which the world is heading. In fact, as far as I am concerned, World War 3 has already begun. How do we, as Believers prepare for such a calamity?

This is the question this article will attempt to answer.

Although I do not recognize Albert Einstein as any type of prophet from Elohim, I do respect him for his great intelligence.

Albert Einstein - “I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but world War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.”

Following Einstein’s warning to the U.S. that Germany was working on an atomic bomb, he then helped America to develop the first one. I believe he was sorry he ever did, as were a number of others working on the Manhattan Project. In an attempt to diminish the damage he had done, or get it under control, Einstein, along with 10 other contemporaries, composed and signed the following manifesto in July of 1955.

In the tragic situation which confronts humanity, we feel that scientists should assemble in conference to appraise the perils that have arisen as a result of the development of weapons of mass destruction, and to discuss a resolution in the spirit of the appended draft.

We are speaking on this occasion, not as members of this or that nation, continent, or creed, but as human beings, members of the species Man, whose continued existence is in doubt. The world is full of conflicts; and, overshadowing all minor conflicts, the titanic struggle between Communism and anti- Communism.

Almost everybody who is politically conscious has strong feelings about one or more of these issues; but we want you, if you can, to set aside such feelings and consider yourselves only as members of a biological species which has had a remarkable history, and whose disappearance none of us can desire.

We shall try to say no single word which should appeal to one group rather than to another. All, equally, are in peril, and, if the peril is understood, there is hope that they may collectively avert it.

We have to learn to think in a new way. We have to learn to ask ourselves, not what steps can be taken to give military victory to whatever group we prefer, for there no longer are such steps; the question we have to ask ourselves is: what steps can be taken to prevent a military contest of which the issue must be disastrous to all parties?

The general public, and even many men in positions of authority, have not realized what would be involved in a war with nuclear bombs. The general public still thinks in terms of the obliteration of cities. It is understood that the new bombs are more powerful than the old, and that, while one A-bomb could obliterate Hiroshima, one H-bomb could obliterate the largest cities, such as London, New York, and Moscow.

No doubt in an H-bomb war great cities would be obliterated. But this is one of the minor disasters that would have to be faced. If everybody in London, New York, and Moscow were exterminated, the world might, in the course of a few centuries, recover from the blow. But we now know, especially since the Bikini test, that nuclear bombs can gradually spread destruction over a very much wider area than had been supposed.

It is stated on very good authority that a bomb can now be manufactured which will be 2,500 times as powerful as that which destroyed Hiroshima. Such a bomb, if exploded near the ground or under water, sends radio-active particles into the upper air. They sink gradually and reach the surface of the earth in the form of a deadly dust or rain. It was this dust which infected the Japanese fishermen and their catch of fish.

No one knows how widely such lethal radioactive particles might be diffused, but the best authorities are unanimous in saying that a war with H-bombs might possibly put an end to the human race. It is feared that if many H-bombs are used there will be universal death, sudden only for a minority, but for the majority a slow torture of disease and disintegration.

Many warnings have been uttered by eminent men of science and by authorities in military strategy. None of them will say that the worst results are certain. What they do say is that these results are possible, and no one can be sure that they will not be realized. We have not yet found that the views of experts on this question depend in any degree upon their politics or prejudices. They depend only, so far as our researches have revealed, upon the extent of the particular expert's knowledge. We have found that the men who know most are the most gloomy.

Here, then, is the problem which we present to you, stark and dreadful and inescapable: Shall we put an end to the human race; or shall mankind renounce war? People will not face this alternative because it is so difficult to abolish war.

The abolition of war will demand distasteful limitations of national sovereignty. But what perhaps impedes understanding of the situation more than anything else is that the term "mankind" feels vague and abstract. People scarcely realize in imagination that the danger is to themselves and their children and their grandchildren, and not only to a dimly apprehended humanity. They can scarcely bring themselves to grasp that they, individually, and those whom they love are in imminent danger of perishing agonizingly. And so they hope that perhaps war may be allowed to continue provided modern weapons are prohibited.

This hope is illusory. Whatever agreements not to use H-bombs had been reached in time of peace, they would no longer be considered binding in time of war, and both sides would set to work to manufacture H-bombs as soon as war broke out, for, if one side manufactured the bombs and the other did not, the side that manufactured them would inevitably be victorious.

Although an agreement to renounce nuclear weapons as part of a general reduction of armaments would not afford an ultimate solution, it would serve certain important purposes. First: any agreement between East and West is to the good in so far as it tends to diminish tension. Second: the abolition of thermo-nuclear weapons, if each side believed that the other had carried it out sincerely, would lessen the fear of a sudden attack in the style of Pearl Harbour, which at present keeps both sides in a state of nervous apprehension. We should, therefore, welcome such an agreement though only as a first step. Most of us are not neutral in feeling, but, as human beings, we have to remember that, if the issues between East and West are to be decided in any manner that can give any possible satisfaction to anybody, whether Communist or anti-Communist, whether Asian or European or American, whether White or Black, then these issues must not be decided by war. We should wish this to be understood, both in the East and in the West. There lies before us, if we choose, continual progress in happiness, knowledge, and wisdom. Shall we, instead, choose death, because we cannot forget our quarrels? We appeal, as human beings, to human beings: Remember your humanity, and forget the rest. If you can do so, the way lies open to a new Paradise; if you cannot, there lies before you the risk of universal death.

Resolution

We invite this Congress, and through it the scientists of the world and the general public, to subscribe to the following resolution:

"In view of the fact that in any future world war nuclear weapons will certainly be employed, and that such weapons threaten the continued existence of mankind, we urge the Governments of the world to realize, and to acknowledge publicly, that their purpose cannot be furthered by a world war, and we urge them, consequently, to find peaceful means for the settlement of all matters of dispute between them."

Einstein died two days after signing this manifesto. Unfortunately, it was like closing the barn door after the horses had escaped and the threat of nuclear annihilation lived on.

Today, there are enough nuclear missiles in existence to destroy the earth and all life on it several times over. While lying globalists push their ‘global warming’ agenda as the answer to saving the human race, they are at the same time preaching the need for global depopulation and see nuclear war as way of achieving that end. These same globalists have no national affiliations. They consider themselves to be the “master race” and plan to rid the planet of all the other “food wasters” – except for approximately 600 million slaves and breeders. They feel they will be “safe” in their underground survival bunkers. I believe that Yahuwah has other plans for them.

As Believers, we know which “god” this world worships – HaSatan (the adversary). How absurd is it that they worship the one being who is out to destroy us all? In spite of our greater intelligence, the human race has got to be the stupidest creatures on the planet. If not for Yahuwah opening our minds, we’d be rated right up there with the rest of them. For that we should (and I am sure are) very grateful and giving thanks for every day.

Yahuwah could have taken us out of this world anytime He wanted. Wouldn't have been wonderful to have been instantly translated into the New Creation (Kingdom) the instant we were dunked at baptism. Actually I didn't know what to expect at baptism. I wondered if I would suddenly be imbued with the full spirit of Yahuwah and be able to perform miraculous and wondrous works of the spirit – like Yahushua, some of the prophets and the apostles. I admit being a little disappointed when this did not happen.

What I latter realized was that I was keenly more aware of sin and started to scrutinize every aspect of my life in an effort to weed out all sin and present myself spotless before my Creator. I realized that there was “a work” that I was expected to perform, and a walk that I was expected to walk. I then realized that baptism was merely the beginning of our educational experience.

In this regard, Yahushua prayed His final prayer, in Jn.17:15-20.

John 17:15 - I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

16 - They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

17 - Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

18 - As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.

19 - And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

20 - Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

Remaining in this world is as essential for us, as it was HaMashiyack. Yahushua had to put Himself in the shoes of His creation, for final temptation and experience death, before He could become the Firstborn of the New Creation. He brought truth to the world - the truth of Yahuwah. Most of us living today will also have to taste death prior to graduation into the kingdom. And why should we expect any less a trial than our Messiah suffered. We certainly are not any better than He, and need such a final testing to advance to the next step of the creation more than He did. The only weapon Yahushua swung was the truth of Yahuwah. This is to be our only weapon, also.

Yet, how does Yahuwah both keep us in the world and at the same time protect us from evil?

The answer depends on whether one is thinking physically or spiritually. The Jews were not focused on a spiritual redeemer, but a physical military champion and king to save them from a physical enemy – Rome. Their continuous whoring caused them to lose sight of the big picture. It is not to be so with us.

Eph. 6:12 - For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Our war is not against the human inhabitants of this planet; it is against the Fallen Angels who disgraced their own chances to enter the Kingdom and taught men to do the same. This is the enemy that we must first conquer. The first question that pops to mind is (perhaps) “And, just how do we do that?” The following verses tell us how!

Eph. 6:13 - Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of Elohim, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 - Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 - And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 - Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 - And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of Elohim:

18 - Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

We would be very foolish to go into a battle completely naked or with only various pieces of armour in place. The arsenal is open and we have full access to the spiritual armour of Elohim. Are we taking full advantage of this magnificent opportunity that the rest of the world has thumbed their noses at?

Yahushua had the full armour of Elohim. He wore it proudly and is the only example of spiritual perfection we have before us. In our personal battle, we need to have our armour on 24/7. The wickedness in high places does not rest or sleep. Nor can we afford to.

Having all of our spiritual armour in place is essential to spiritual promotion. If one piece is missing, the enemy has an opening in which to strike. And since a little leaven leavens the whole lump, this is the only opening the enemy needs.

Some might think they have all their spiritual armour in place. I would like to think so, too. However, I believe this subject to be so important, that it doesn’t hurt to self evaluate ourselves on a daily basis. Sometimes the shield can get a little heavy and the arm (with the help of gravity) tends to drop. The same thing can happen spiritually; especially when ones confidence supersedes caution. We cannot afford to underestimate our enemy. Like verse 13 says, “that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand“.

We must admit that in spite of our faith, we cannot help being very concerned over the prospect of a 3rd world war that has all the potential of turning into a thermo-nuclear holocaust. What will that mean for us and our loved ones – immediate and extended. If you are like me, it turns your stomach to think of the devastating consequences of such a scenario. So far we have only the examples of the destruction of two cities in Japan to consider. Can you imagine a bomb 2.500 times those and the catastrophic consequences?

Yahushua could! He saw it coming almost (according to the Hebrew calendar) 2,000 years ago. Thankfully, He promised to intercede before all flesh perished.

It is the point at which He intercedes that is often a point of contention. Almost everyone believes they are not going to taste death. And, so has every generation of Believer from the day of Yahushua’s ascension to this. As far as the true end time prophesies go, the following describes the flight of the righteous.

Matt. 24:15 - When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

16 - Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

17 - Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house:

18 - Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

19 - And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

20 - But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

21 - For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

22 - And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

I feel that the “nuclear clock” today stands at about 1 minute to midnight. This feeling began when I read the leaked report of how the U.S. was planning a preemptive nuclear strike against Russia and China. Of course, Russia and China read the report too; and they did what any nation would do – start preparing for a preemptive strike of their own on the U.S. Russia has publicly made it quite clear that they will respond with nuclear force if they are attacked by NATO. I image their long-time ally, China; will join them in such a response. And then, there is the wild card – North Korea. They too are allies of China and recently uttered its intention of nuking Washington. What will that bring to the war table?

I have, for the longest time, felt that when the end truly does come, many if not most Believers are going to be flocking to Jerusalem to welcome the coming King. If the two end-time witnesses of Rev. 11 make their appearance while I am still able, that is where I want to be. What an awesome experience it would be to witness that event first hand and study at the feet of the two witnesses.

However, being in Jerusalem at that time, will also bring with it great perils. Let’s not forget that the two witnesses will be judging the earth prophesying against the Beast and the False Prophet; and, the world will hate them for it. Anyone associated with the two witnesses (true Believers) will be hated and persecuted, also. That is when I believe the above verses will come to fulfillment. To be more precise, I believe the flight from Jerusalem will occur very soon following the death and resurrection of the two witnesses. My question is, “Where will they go?” Is there anywhere on the earth that they will be safe?

When Jerusalem fell to Rome in 70 AD and the Temple was destroyed, the Believers likely fled the city in similar fashion as described above. The benefit to this was they spread across the globe, taking the truth of Yahuwah with them and preaching it wherever they went.

The situation may be the same in the end days. Those who flee from Jerusalem will take the truth of Yahuwah with them and make one last effort to take the true gospel to whoever is left in the world. They will yet have 3 ½ years to bring as many to the truth as possible before Yahushua returns.

It is the last 3 ½ years that will be a time of tribulation “such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be”. It will be a time of unimaginable fear and terror. What could we imagine that would be worse than a nuclear holocaust? Perhaps the plagues of Elohim?

I would not imagine that technological communication such as TV, internet, telephone, etc., will be available to any but those with a need-to-have clearance. We will need to return to the old ways of delivering the gospel by word of mouth. If you are like me and are very uncomfortable taking center stage (or soap box), this may present a very big challenge. But don’t panic yet. There are other jobs associated with the spreading of the gospel that are just as important. I am happy to be living in this technical age today and being able to take advantage of our technology to do the work I am doing in the way I am doing it. However, when the time comes, I will have to put away my fears and become confident in the truth that I have so far unveiled – and pray that Yahuwah will tell me (via His spirit) what to say.

How do we determine when our work is done – when the enemy is closing in on us? No! That is when our work is just beginning. I believe that Yahuwah will work with us in the same manner He did the first century Believers – turning every negative thing that happens to us into an opportunity to advance His gospel.

The example of Steven is one that I like.

Acts 6:8 - And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

9 - Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen.

10 - And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.

11 - Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against Elohim.

12 - And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council,

13 - And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law:

14 - For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us.

15 - And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.

Acts 7:1 - Then said the high priest, Are these things so?

The secret to attaining the power of Elohim is to be full of faith. Therefore, one might say that power is the by-product of a full measure of faith. If so, we must examine our faith, to see why we do not have a full measure of the power of Elohim. I have heard mainstream ministers say that Yahuwah does not work that way anymore. I do not believe that statement. I believe it is us who are lacking, not Yahuwah.

Many feel that simply believing that Yahushua was the Messiah is faith enough. They preach that if anyone accepts ‘Jesus’ into their heart, they will be saved. We Believers know that there is much more to it than that.

Believers know that we must allow Yahuwah’s spirit to fully indwell us and control every aspect of our daily lives. We know that we are continually at war against the evil powers in high places. We know that we cannot rest or let down our guard, ever. True Believers know that they have been in a spiritual war since the day they were baptized. Unfortunately, many get war-weary and fall away from following after Yahushua.

Spiritual armour is designed to fight a spiritual war. However, it is also designed to help us through our final physical trial as well. If our armour is firmly in place, we will be able to endure our physical fate. If we remain adamant in the truth of Yahuwah, He will bear witness of us by making our faces shine like an angel’s face.

Acts 6:56 - And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of Elohim.

57 - Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,

58 - And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul.

59 - And they stoned Stephen, calling upon Elohim, and saying, Master Yahushua, receive my spirit.

60 - And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Master, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

Steven demonstrated no concern for his own physical life. He was altogether already in the spirit. He accepted his physical demise and asked only that Yahuwah receive his spirit. He even asked Yahuwah not to charge those responsible for his death with the sin. How selfless is that?

Then he “fell asleep”. That’s all death is, folks – a final nap before becoming full spiritual beings in the Kingdom of Yahuwah. Once physically dead, nothing of this earth can ever again hurt us. Death is; therefore, the only sure place of safety.

My former church (the WCG) taught that our loved ones (even if unbelievers) would be saved through our faith. I certainly hope so, because I am quite alone in my beliefs and all my family think I am out of my mind. I am sure that the WCG used a scriptural passage as the basis of this teaching, but cannot remember, now, which one. If anyone reading this remembers the passage, I would appreciate it if you would send it to me. It would certainly be reassuring to many of us if it were true.

Conclusion

Physically speaking it is very difficult not to think about death and dread its inevitability. It may help a great deal to focus on spiritual life, rather than physical death. If we think of it as a final sleep rather than an abrupt and (perhaps painful) end of life, I believe it will help us to remain strong and in the faith through whatever manner of death is in store for us.

The world may be on the brink of a thermo-nuclear 3rd world war; and I am sure that the prospect of such an end to the human experience horrifies us all. However, we in the faith need not fear even this manner of death – because, in our next waking moment we will be in the Kingdom in our new spiritual bodies, where death, disease and pain will no longer have any effect on us.

To be prepared spiritually we must be filled with faith and hope; and not despair about what the world may do to us. Rather, we should be focused on making our deaths count and use the opportunity to glorify Yahuwah before our enemies. We can start today by looking at every negative experience in our lives and examine them to see what spiritual lesson Yahuwah is striving to teach us. When we realize what the lesson is, we can then give glory to Yahuwah for putting us through that trial and helping to grow and become stronger in the spirit and in faith.

We can also prepare physically by storing up food, water and other items we may need to survive a global war. If we fail to plan, we plan to fail.

Most importantly of all, we need to pray and ask Yahuwah to help us make our deaths glorify His Name. If everything we do and say is for the glory of Yahuwah, we cannot go wrong.
