Tuesday, June 15, 2021: Delivery and a Monkey Ball Stage

The Nintendo Direct at E3 2021 happened today! While sadly there was no news on any updates to this game, there were a few new games that caught my attention, like WarioWare and Mario Party. But the game that I'm most hyped for is Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania! (A remake of the good GameCube Monkey Ball games, plus Deluxe.) It comes out on Nintendo Switch alongside Steam, Xbox Series X/One, and PS4/5. It's slated to release on October 5, so this fall. Monkey Ball on the GameCube (and DS/Wii) is just as much of my childhood as Animal Crossing on those platforms, and I would say they were my two most-favorite gaming franchises alongside Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog, the mascots from Nintendo and Sega. So, in honor of that, I decided to make a recreation of Expert 2 from Monkey Ball 1 (cause it was easy to do) and upload a video of that!

Besides making this, I also did a favor for Avery. Since villagers ask you to complete favors so rarely, I always try to do it.

On my way over to Clay's, I stopped by at Lobo's house. He had K.K. Metal on, just like I remember from the old games, even though his house looks completely different now. He did give me a recipe I didn't actually have, for once!

Anyways, Avery got Clay a dress shirt! I was sure to snap a pic of him in his new attire.

That's it for today! Not much - I was really hoping for a big update! Maybe we'll get something separately from the E3 event. Oh well; at least today, I'm too hyped about Monkey Ball to care too much! I'm excited to try and see how many people I can fit up on my new Monkey Ball stage in multiplayer when we do a summer party or something at some point.

Anyways, have a great rest of your night! Super excited for the near future of the Switch as it rounds out its fifth year on the market - that's crazy! Celebrating some incredible GameCube games along the way.

June 17th UPDATE: Doug Bowser (the current businessman president of Nintendo of America) said there are more updates planned for the game! They're probably planning something a little more substantial than the holiday updates throughout Year 1, like New Leaf's Welcome amiibo update. I'll certainly be back on this blog for that, unless I get the urge to play the game in-between. I did enjoy Jeff's new video, showcasing his town, Forest, from the early weeks of the game to the later weeks. That's the fun thing for me as well documenting my time in an Animal Crossing game, seeing how your town progresses! Especially in the large-scale changes New Horizons allows us. Anyways - see you sometime later!
