Happy Halloween! This evening I headed over to Bio City to hang out with Jarod and celebrate Halloween.

Things are a little different this time around. You can still trade candy with Jack for spooky furniture, and go into houses with either a complete costume (like City Folk) or by spooking neighbors with one of the special masks you were told to collect at the beginning of the month. However, you can also use masks to get lollipops, which are apparently Jack's favorite. When you trade him those, you get a piece from the creepy set, which is much more rare and possibly more expensive.

One catch about the masks is only certain animals are scared of certain things. So me and Jarod had to trade the masks around if we didn't have a certain type.

Another cool thing is whenever you fail to give candy to one of the neighbors outside walking around, or inside if the mask doesn't scare them, instead of them taking your candy right away, you can play a game like rock-paper-scissors or charades; if you win this, you get candy, but if you lose, then, obviously, you'll get 'pranked'.

Here's Jarod's cool Halloween house. He ended up collecting everything, which I didn't do. I'll probably do that for the Jingle series, my favorite series in the, erm, series. :)

Festivities aside, I just want to point out that Jarod's neighbor's Eugene's house is pretty awesome. And Eugene is awesome, too. I mean, look at him!

And I also helped out with a fund for the Dream Suite, which he is currently building. I should've visited Aika Village! Aw, well, I really wanted to play Majora's Mask today, but as I don't have that...

All in all, I'd say this new Halloween is pretty fun! It remains true to the original GameCube and City Folk formula, whilst adding just a few catches. Probably that's how the Harvest Festival and Christmas Eve festivals will be as well, so they'll be fun to look forward to in the future. I just am glad they have these events in the 3DS version; I was so mad they didn't in Wild World back in 2009 and 2010... Oh, well. Now they do in 2013! Happy Halloween, everyone! :)
