Monday, December 21, 2020: Marissa's Birthday

I bought some wrapping paper at the shop for my friend Marissa's birthday in Animal Crossing today! It's reminding me I need to find Toy Day presents for my villagers soon.

As I left the shop, Sherb reminded me of the Toy Day gifts I need - luckily he's also not prepared like me!

I got a new wintery recipe from a balloon which I hadn't gotten before.

I found a lost book by the garden, and asked Cookie about it. She said it belonged to Clay - I saw Sherb had fallen asleep on a tree stump!

Probably just a couple of minutes later, I saw Cookie and Clay chatting about a song they were learning!

I also saw Cookie sitting by the stage. There was nobody there, so she just sat facing the ocean.

I also enjoyed talking to my Snowboys. I made a new one that wasn't perfect, but I was experimenting with making it a smaller size than the full.

I also enjoyed bonking Gulliver on the head with a net, which I didn't know you could do!

I booted up the game again in the evening to celebrate Marissa's birthday! Here's the setup with the presents. I put some tiki torches there because she crafted them for me in our last session with Kaitlyn (see Friday's post).

Luckily, both my friends were able to come to my island! We were having connection problems last time. We spent probably ten minutes giving each other recitals in my concert hall. You can also see I changed into my Santa outfit during our play session.

Clay was quite nervous about having a guest over. Somehow I didn't think he was helping his case.

We toured around my island for a while, and then I went over to Cocoa Land. She's still in the tutorial section, so it was fun to hear the snow version of that intro guitar music. It was fun to visit the tent from the very start of the game, which I mainly remember now from Nintendo Treehouse at E3.

I met one of her villagers, Plucky. She was very excited to tell me about the town fruit, oranges. She also had Antonio the anteater, which I remember fondly from Wild World in one of my old towns.

I loved her ice castle she's working on! I donated a few of my ice things for her. So in New Leaf, I was working on my ice castle in my tiny upstairs, and now I'm just enjoying seeing others doing it!
