Sunday, March 29, 2020: Resident Services and Project K

It is HAPPENING inside the world of Animal Crossing: New Horizons! For starters... we now have a town hall! And Tom Nook introduced Isabelle, the face of New Leaf! (Nook even referenced her old job in the 3DS game too.) She'll be doing the daily broadcast from now on. Tom Nook also said the plaza is ready for seasonal events and things as well. Easter is coming up; in the recent Nintendo Direct Mini, they showed off what the event would look like.

When I finally got control (also, new hourly music has finally started playing - the 7am music was actually quite fitting and felt like a progression musically alongside this new exciting day!), I got my first HHA letter and a gift from Resident Services. I was too excited to see the new town hall to even bother checking out my presents!

Nook and Isabelle will be working side-by-side in here! Isabelle is for general island life, while Nook is for infrastructure and the business end of things.

Tom Nook had a special mission for me: Project K! He wants to bring K.K. Slider into our island since he's such a hit musician. (And I was just asking about him last night!) He has a three-step plan to get this singing dog here. and the first step was to build a campground. I believe this is basically the equivalent of the Public Works Project in New Leaf.

So I went about gathering materials to craft it, which took some time; had to make a new axe just to chop the wood, but luckily there were plenty of rocks I could get to mine the rest of the iron I needed. I also wanted to show this cute picture of Tom Nook and Isabelle doing some aerobics as I walked in. The devs really went above and beyond with these details! I love it - helping them wake up and start the day! (A very fitting thing in Japanese culture, too.)

In all the excitement, I can't forget to mention meeting Daisy Mae! I didn't buy any of her turnips yet. She referenced her grandma Joan quite a bit - I still hope Joan still appears in the game sometime!

I went ahead and put up a location for the campground, right above where the booming neighborhood is (my line of five houses to the left of the plaza). That way, visitors can mingle with the residents, and maybe they'll want to move here even more if they make a friend! :) Look at my strategies in marketing... I had to move a tree out of the way that was blocking the entrance. Nook told me it will be finished tomorrow.

While I was back at Resident Services to inquire about the next step in Project K (which I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out about), I decided to put in a request for a natural ramp to be built. I ran over the bridge I had built earlier and realized the ramp could continue a pathway from the bridge to the cliff, so people could easily run up there whenever they wanted. Lloid, reprising his role from New Leaf, was ever ready to be helpful and accept donations. (I'll see what the rest of my family can give... :P)

That's all I did this morning, and that seems to be all the exciting stuff out of the way, in any rate. I'll post back here if anything else exciting happens later on, but otherwise, I'll see you tomorrow!

Hey, Yoshi's Crafted World arrived! I was going to play that game with my family on the Switch. Too many exciting gaming events for me to handle today! :)
