Sunday, January 31, 2021: Cookie's Fish Collection

I played a little bit late last night. Avery sent me a skeleton for some reason... What kind of message is he trying to send here?? Especially based on what the contents of his letter were...

K.K. Slider performed K.K. March for me. I feel like part of the tune inspired the second movement of my 2015 Symphony I wrote.

I went into Cookie's house and she asked me to catch her a river fish. I saw a couple other fish stacked up behind us, so I can see she wants to continue her fish collection! It was pretty easy to go to the river east of the neighborhood and find something for her. She gave me a zap suit as thanks.

This morning, Isabelle was saying how it's the last day of January, and gave the villagers some COVID advice! Well, she said it was for a cold, but it really suited the times we're living in now!

I'd waited till daylight to check out the bean-throwing kit. JVGS Jeff had already said about the disappointments of the beans as compared to New Leaf; villagers don't react to them if you hit them, and they don't bounce as much, they kind of just drop.

However, there are a couple redeeming qualities: they do splash in bodies of water, and they do make bushes and flowers and things shake a bit. So they aren't terrible; just downgraded a bit - to be fair I'm using them this morning and probably never again! Except maybe for fun multiplayer shenanigans!

I also tried out the maracas Nintendo sent me (I was surprised to see them in my quick select when I was playing the other day!), and set out the Mr. Resetti model on the small peninsula I'd put the Boo ghosts for Halloween.

Finally, I caught Phil checking out the custom designs in the back. I should try making some clothes sometime! I wonder if I could use the Wild World strategy guide (like when I made Electroplankton in the GameCube game in 2010!) or the Nintendogs/Koopa Troopa SNES Mario Kart designs during the Harvest Festival in City Folk in 2011... There's something else I could play around with!
