Wednesday, February 24, 2021: Phil's Out

I haven't played the game since Festivale, and all of my villagers were asking where I've been. Avery gave me some sage advice about life.

On my way to the shops, I saw Phil with his thought bubble, and I wondered if he was going to ask to move... and he did!! The day I happen to turn the game on after being away, he decides to move. Wow! I'm excited to see who the new villager will be. I don't think I'll have time tomorrow to do any villager hunting, and I don't really care that much, anyway.

At the Able Sisters, I started putting together a samurai outfit - my first thought was Mario's samurai outfit in Super Mario Odyssey with the red. Kicks was in town as well, and he was selling impish wings and mage booties. I'm not sure if the red boots will fit my mage outfit or not, but I bought 'em for now just in case I decide to switch things up later.

Cookie told me about her new hobby building models since I've been away. It was nice to see she had someone to hang out with!

A bit later on, I found a whole bunch of weeds spawning in the back of the island by the bamboo area. I really need to put some flowers back here so weeds can't spawn; I never usually check back here to remove them!

Finally, Sherb told me about his tortellini incident, with Sylvana as witness. It didn't end well for either of them! (I guess you can see I cleaned up the Festivale stuff tonight too. I'll have to experiment with customizing some of it!)

I've been busier lately, but hoping to keep playing my Switch as breaks. I did enjoy last week's Nintendo Direct (Miitopia! Skyward Sword HD; I referenced Skyward Sword a few times in my City Folk blog; and excited for the new Mario Golf this summer!), showing off the new Mario items in Animal Crossing - the fact you can warp between parts of your island with the warp pipes is so cool! I can't wait to check them out. I believe the update was installing while I was playing the game on the TV; but the Mario items won't be available until March 1st.

Also excited to try out Square Enix's Project Triangle Strategy on Switch (demo) - should be interesting!
