Monday, February 1, 2021: Winter in Forest

Mom sent me a letter with an embroidery she stitched. I put it up in my bedroom.

These lights were probably on town hall before, but I liked how they lit up the building on this frigid evening. It brought to mind the Bright Nights Festival from Wild World on the DS.

Merengue told me she forgot to eat lunch! It was 7 p.m. when she told me; she needs to eat dinner!

The Nooklings had a new item in the corner: they'll now be selling items from the Festivale series! They also informed me about the pack of Reactions in the cabinet I could buy... for a whopping 19,800 Bells! Yikes! They allowed me to dance, so I'll be all set for the party in a couple of weeks.

Diana told me she was thinking of moving out, which I quickly stopped. Still waiting on Phil...

I sent my friend this box of chocolates - even though it's way early for Valentine's Day!

I took a break to work on some music mixing, and returned to the game later on tonight. Diana was also asking why it isn't commonplace for people to use umbrellas when it's snowing. I was thinking the same thing!

Speaking of the snow, I learned you canNOT break snowballs with your shovel, like in some of the other games. And, I've started combing the beach for giant clams to sell. I also picked up corals tonight too, since I always used to go for those in the past games for money.

When I headed to Sylvana's house, I saw she had her RC helicopter from Toy Day in the corner of her house! How cute!

Fauna gave me some good life advice about cooking when you move out by yourself.

From reading JVGS Jeff's blog, I saw he had updated his Dream Address, so I went to go visit his island. I've been taking a break from YouTube, so it's fun to visit his island in-game since I'm not watching his videos at the moment. He has his design of Rizzo, the island's mortal enemy!

I don't recall if his Animal Crossing cemetery was there when I first visited, but here he shows a feature that hasn't been implemented in the Switch version of the game. The GameCube version had balls to kick around; DS had the Acorn Festival; Wii had shopping cards (which I believe I used in that blog!); and 3DS had campers, I believe is what that item represents...

I loved going through Donkey Kong Country, even in the winter (there were a few levels in the SNES Donkey Kong Country I played in winter! Plus Tropical Freeze, now on Switch!).

Let's not forget about the robot hero, which he recently was able to craft! He also customized it blue.

The main attraction I had to get to was his winter obstacle course! It was actually Christmas-themed as a late party, but it was still fun to walk through and catch some of the references, like Snoopy, and Buddy thee Elf.

Here there was a fish in the other small pond you have to vault across in the course!

And finally, to have my favorite Animal Crossing content creator say it himself in-game...
