Sunday, August 9, 2020: Fireworks Festival

I wasn't playing during last week's Fireworks Festival, but I made sure to play tonight; Isabelle let me know about the event. She referenced being happy to get out of Resident Services, which could be a reference to her expanded role as the mayor's assistant in New Leaf.

The fireworks lit up the sky from the start, but the place to be is the plaza. Isabelle is there giving out party poppers and accepting custom design fireworks (we already got Rose the Dog as a firework last week). Redd is there as well selling various summer items directly, more akin to his role in the GameCube game; on the 3DS, he sold fortune cookies instead. I got a few prizes from him.

I love the bustling plaza during these village-wide events! This reminded me in particular of the 2006 Animal Crossing Movie, when the summer Fireworks Festival takes place, and the community feel it had then. Here I am playing with a tweeter I got.

Leaving the plaza to look at the fireworks better, I did speak with a couple villagers who were watching from the neighborhood rather than go to the plaza.

Here's a look at some of the fireworks in the sky tonight, which I'll include at their large resolutions:

Like in City Folk onwards, the fireworks will be here every Sunday night until September starts. I'm looking forward to continuing blogging this game at the same parts of the year (more fall/winter) as I have done for City Folk and New Leaf in the past; it will be fun to compare the seasonal experiences of these three Animal Crossing games!

Thanks for reading, and never stop Crossing!
