Thursday, March 26, 2020: Dark Wood Set

This morning, I met my new neighbor, Patty! I believe I first had her in a town back on the DS version.

When I walked into Sherb's house, he was busy at his workbench. In fact, when I went to check on him tonight, he was still crafting away - like a violin luthier! :) He gave me a DIY recipe for a wooden chest, which I decided to make.

I decided to focus on decoration today, so I made this gong. How exciting! One day, I'll be able to make an outdoor orchestra, similar to the indoor one I did in New Leaf... You can also see I expanded my dinosaur park area to add some stones and an entrance.

In the evening, I customized some of my wooden items so they'd all use the dark wood design (chest, drawer, bed-frame, end-table). Matching everything! I saw on her Instagram, Sqaishey (a YouTuber I watch) posted a real-life picture of a cat in a painting in her New Horizons town - maybe tomorrow I'll try out converting pictures to the game, because apparently that's a thing...

You might also notice I changed my Switch to have grey Joy-Cons, since that matches my Switch in real-life!

Also, Lyman taught me a new reaction/emote. One of the new ones (I believe) added to this game. It seems New Horizons has returned to a limited number of emotes (as in City Folk and Wild World) using the same wheel as the tool wheel, but we'll have to see what happens once they get filled up. I wonder what Dr. Shrunk and Cyrus will do, as it seems their tasks are being replaced by my villagers and Tom Nook! Maybe they'll appear later in the game, we'll see...

Also, before I quit for the day, I sold a gold nugget I had in storage, and that gave me enough money to finally pay off my first debt! (If you've read through my New Leaf blog, you know how slow I am at paying off my debt...) To be fair, I'm putting more resources in expanding the island and progressing through the game.
