Saturday, June 5, 2021: Classic Road

I found a lost item by the river today. Sherb told me it belonged to Sydney, so I returned it to her... luckily right next to where Sherb was - how convenient!

Little sneak peek of my campsite - videos for this new mini-series coming within the next couple days! I tried using the Island Designer app while sitting on the log, and I found I couldn't! How interesting...

I was also mad at Clay for sitting where I couldn't remove the tile for my project! I love how that's the picture the game credited me for! (I zoomed in to see better with the app for the sake of the blog.)

Anyways, inspired by my trip to Heartland and all my recent "classic" Animal Crossing videos from JVGS Jeff I've been watching, voicing the characters with my friend in different accents with the rude dialogue from the GameCube and DS games, I decided to use some of the Japanese player's patterns from that video to build a little GameCube-style dirt patch in the campground (you'll see it in a future video), and replace the path for the main road with the Wild World/City Folk plaza tiles! It's so nostalgic and wonderful to see in New Horizons! The paths lined up so perfectly too!

Not sure what's gotten me into all the "classic" Animal Crossing games recently (partly playing through New Leaf again for a series...?), but now's the perfect time to! For the first year, I was just excited with New Horizons being all shiny and new. Especially now that updates have been quiet and others online are getting bored with the game, it's nice to have projects like this to keep it interesting.

Finally, I uploaded a couple patterns for the first time. The first is my Boo ghost design I made for Hallowen last year. The second is my ref design I wore in City Folk for the obstacle course I did there, and here as well for my 1-year anniversary party. I'm definitely more a sound designer than a visual one, but I'll upload any other neat designs I've done in the future - not like these are anything interesting!

If you haven't already, check out my CityFolk66 10-Year Anniversary video I did, and keep a watch on the channel for lots more Animal Crossing content coming - some unique things that hopefully should be fun to check out! Almost turning New Horizons into a Minecraft series, in a way. Hope they're fun!
