Sunday, August 30, 2020: New Hyrule - Second Quest

Last night, I went back to New Hyrule, the town I visited in my last post, to try and solve the mystery of the island. As I found out and said, it's quite a large challenge island, so I'll try and explain a little bit of it here, and again, hopefully livestream it in the future!

Here, I found the Master Sword, with art from A Link to the Past for the SNES. The Golden Net was something I dug up with a shovel, which I was able to find hidden in the Lost Woods. There are also lots of Pieces Of Heart scattered about everywhere, similarly to how you'd find them in the games. I guess the fact that there are four in the picture here is a reference to how four Pieces of Heart grant Link a Heart Container in the games.

The shovel was a big find, though, because it unlocks a ton of dig spots all around the island. There were sections that reminded me of mini-games, including a K.K. track that was similar to the minigame music from Ocarina of Time. I thought that was a great touch.

When I found Zelda, she referenced the opening lines of Breath of the Wild. Additionally, in the woods I also found a Korok Mask (Leaf Mask).

Anyways, the goal of the map seems to lead to this person's house. There's no way to access it from the main island, so I was wondering how you would get there. My guess is using a wet suit, you can swim around to it; I was getting too tired to figure it out though, so I haven't progressed much since getting the shovel.

Here's a look at the clues written on the bulletin board by the creator. Please let me know if you'd be interested in a livestream! I'll also put the Nintendo Life article and the Dream Address [DA-9114-1462-2579] so you can explore it yourself! Can you solve the island?

I played briefly today as well. I picked up a lost item a while back, but it seems it is no longer usable, so I got this interesting dialogue box.

Since it's been a week, I had to pluck a bunch of weeds around the island. Typical stuff; these weeds really blended in with the flowers! I'm not used to weeds looking like this.

I won't take many pictures for the blog, but I will be enjoying the final Fireworks Show for this month before I go to sleep in real-life today. Animal Crossing is the perfect game to play right before bed, and having it as an option to play in portable mode on the Switch is fantastic! Just like when I played Wild World on my DS at this point last year.
