Monday, April 6, 2020: Streets at Sundown

Isabelle was eager to tell me about the cherry blossom pedals falling from the sky! I haven't made the picnic table she suggested quite yet, but it sounds like a lovely idea, Isabelle!

Saharah was in town today! To snag one of her carpets, wallpapers, or rugs, you simply give her some money and she will give you something. You can also stock up on Saharah tickets to trade in 5 of them for special carpets or wallpaper. The rugs come in three sizes: I bought one, but didn't like it. I did like the city-scape wallpaper and put it up in my house.

(I shared K.K. D&B, my new record, here because I have fond memories playing it in the GameCube version in my house. It's fun to have it in the new game!)

That hi-fi stereo set me back 10 grand, but it was so worth it! I love how the city wallpaper looks almost like glass, and not just a plastered wall texture.

The main thing I did tonight was make a start on roads leading from the shops to all the homes on the island. Here is a look at some of my progress.

Aah. The sunsets are absolutely stunning in this game - this was before I saw Saharah.

A bit later on, I saw Cookie talking about her plans for an all-nighter. I guess in Animal Crossing terms. every night is party night! I could blast some music tonight though... Studying Bach... :)

Before going to bed in real life, I played a little more. I moved some of the garden benches and chairs to the plaza area so people have places to sit around the plaza.

Lyman pinged me to sneeze in my face. Or, he was teaching me how to sneeze in other people's faces. Either way, he really doesn't care if I get sick. I haven't really been that fond of the guy lately...

Here's the notice for the Fishing Tourney - the first one I'll experience in this game! - which will be this Saturday. It'll be quite the weekend, with that and Bunny Day on Sunday! I'll be sure to get as much done IRL this week as I can so I can enjoy the events in Animal Crossing. :)

I also continued extending the path towards the bridge, letting it stop there for the moment. Below, since I realize I've never shown it before, you can see my map. I love the updates to the cliffs and all the paths you've put into town show up on the map! It's really reminding me of Breath of the Wild's roads you can see in the mini-map and main map in that game for some reason.

And the paths show up in the mini-map too! I'm going to keep it on in the corner of the screen for a little while I think. :)

Lastly, I dropped a balloon present in the river, and I got Nook Miles for that! That's something else I haven't really been showing much, the Nook Miles. Though, then again, if you're reading this and have played or watched somebody play the game, you've probably stared at that Nook Miles screen enough already!
